Government Museum — Attraction in Gwalior

One of the fantastic but ignored places. It is much more rich (in content) museum after Jai Vilas.

The tourists MUST be brought here by Guides. It has all kind of things stored from coins to animals, from ammunition to armours, from pagdi to saree (originally used by the Royal Families and by the people of British Time)

The entry fee for Indian Citizen is Rs 20, but it is worth every penny. Had it been a private property, the ticket charges would've gone to Rs 500.. even at that situation you will find the prices to be low... I MEAN IT HAS GOT RICH CONTENT.

The guides are FREE (Amazingly) and they do a better job than the paid guides. Thanks to Nagar Nigam Gwalior.

Now the Nagar Nigam should advertise it and push a hard sales.

Gwalior is the only city in India which has got 5 Universities (dedicated to 5 sectors) and top schools. They students should be brought here at the museum and the college and Universities should put subject related projects on this.

All in all, it is a best place to spend your time with your kids on a lazy Sunday!

The museum is the one of the best museum in the gwalior and I further say that this museum is better than the sindhiya palace . There are many galleries in the museum. and the ticket 🎟 price is 20₹ for age 10+ and 10 ₹ for the less then 10 or we can say for children's. Capturing photos 📸 inside is not allowed but believe me this the the very knowledgeable place . The statue of salbhanjika is also there and there are many statues of 8th 9th and 10th bc and there are many weapons of freedom fighters like Laxmi Bai Tatya tope etc and they are also old . And there are coins of mugals Kings like akbar shahjahan orangjeb etc and there are the images of sindhiya family and the first photo of Gwalior is also there and leather of many animals like bear 🐻 lion 🦁 tiger 🐅 Neelgai etc . And there are many kinds of butterflies 🦋 in the show case. and there are many kinds of birds and animals and also the white peacock 🦚 in 1758 . And the horns of many animals like deer sambhar etc . And there are also the teeth of elephant 🐘 and the skeleton on monkey and many more . And also there are a red and black panda 🐼 and are the structure of ship 🚢 which sindhiya send for the soldiers who were get ill in first world War and there are also the costume of a soldiers and you can also ask for a guide here and you will get the guide in free 😀 . Now I can not describe the museum because there was many things. I suggest you if you are from gwalior or coming to gwalior you should visit this place. I am saying this because I have also visited this museum.

संग्रहालय ग्वालियर में सबसे अच्छे संग्रहालयों में से एक है और मैं आगे कहता हूं कि यह संग्रहालय सिंधिया महल से बेहतर है। संग्रहालय में कई दीर्घाएं हैं। और टिकट की कीमत 10+ उम्र के लिए 20₹ और 10 से कम के लिए 10 रुपये है या हम बच्चों के लिए कह सकते हैं। अंदर तस्वीरें खींचने की अनुमति नहीं है, लेकिन मेरा विश्वास करो कि यह बहुत ही ज्ञानवर्धक जगह है। सलभंजिका की मूर्ति भी है और 8वीं 9वीं और 10वीं ईसा पूर्व की कई मूर्तियां हैं और लक्ष्मी बाई तात्या टोपे आदि जैसे स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों के कई हथियार हैं और वे भी पुराने हैं। और अकबर शाहजहां ओरंगजेब आदि मुगल राजाओं के सिक्के हैं और सिंधिया परिवार की छवियां हैं और ग्वालियर की पहली तस्वीर भी है और भालू शेर बाघ नीलगाय आदि कई जानवरों के चमड़े हैं। और शो केस में कई तरह की तितलियां होती हैं। और कई प्रकार के पक्षी और जानवर हैं और 1758 में सफेद मोर भी। और कई जानवरों के सींग जैसे हिरण सांभर आदि। और हाथी के दांत भी होते हैं और बंदर पर कंकाल और भी बहुत कुछ। और एक लाल और काला पांडा भी है और जहाज की संरचना है जो सिंधिया उन सैनिकों के लिए भेजते हैं जो प्रथम विश्व युद्ध में बीमार हो गए थे और वहां एक सैनिक की पोशाक भी है और आप यहां मार्गदर्शन भी मांग सकते हैं और आपको मुफ्त में गाइड मिलेगा । अब मैं संग्रहालय का वर्णन नहीं कर सकता क्योंकि वहां बहुत सी चीजें थीं। मेरा सुझाव है कि यदि आप ग्वालियर से हैं या ग्वालियर आ रहे हैं तो आपको इस स्थान की यात्रा अवश्य करनी चाहिए। मैं ऐसा इसलिए कह रहा हूं क्योंकि मैं भी इस संग्रहालय का दौरा कर चुका हूं।
