Moazzam Jahi Market, located in the heart of Hyderabad, is a bustling and vibrant market that is an absolute must-visit for anyone visiting the city. The market was established in 1935 during the rule of the Nizams, and has since been a hub for the locals to buy everything from fresh produce to clothing, jewellery, and electronics. The market is named after the Nizam's second son, Moazzam Jahi, and is spread over a large area, consisting of several buildings and streets that are lined with shops and stalls. The architecture of the market is reminiscent of the old world charm of Hyderabad, with its intricately designed arches, balconies, and domes. Walking through the market, you will be greeted by the sights and sounds of vendors shouting out their wares, shoppers haggling for a good deal, and the smells of freshly cooked food and spices. The market is especially known for its variety of street food, including Hyderabadi biryani, kebabs, and chaat. In addition to the street food, Moazzam Jahi Market is also a great place to shop for traditional Hyderabadi clothing and jewellery. The market is home to a number of shops that specialize in the intricate embroidery and weaving techniques that are unique to the region. One of the most interesting things about the market is the mix of old and new. While some parts of the market have retained their old-world charm, other sections have been modernized to cater to the needs of the 21st century shopper. The market is also home to several electronic shops that sell everything from smartphones to laptops and gaming consoles. Overall, Moazzam Jahi Market is a vibrant and bustling marketplace that is a great representation of the cultural diversity and unique charm of Hyderabad. Whether you're looking to shop for traditional clothing, sample some delicious street food, or simply soak in the atmosphere of this historic market, Moazzam Jahi Market is definitely worth a visit.

Mozamjahi Market is very famous for the fruit market which is located in the heart of the city, Hyderabad. During the ruling of last Nizam, Mir Osman Ali Khan in 1935, it was constructed and was named after his second son Moazzam Jah. In the 1980s the fruit market was shifted to Kothapet Fruit Market. The structure is triangular.

If you are a visitor to Hyderabad, you might like to spend some time here. You will not regret it.

These pictures are taken during several visits to this place. I organise photo for groups and for individuals. If you are on a short visit, I can show you the best of what Hyderabad has to offer.

In 1935, a clock was installed on the minar facing the main market crossing. Granite stone was used for this historic structure and jack arches style was done on the roof. For more than 80 years the market is in use. The terrace of it is accessible by the spiral staircases on two sides of the structure.

This place has transformed due to the Hyderabd Metro Rail project. It looks very different now. You cannot get a clear sky in the background. Some of the pictures shot here are before the metro work started.

Fortunately, this building got a facelift recently. It brings relief when some bureaucrat

The shops here sell fruits, vegetables, dry fruits, meat, ice cream, pottery perfumes. The Famous Ice Cream shop is favorite of the Hyderabadis. Another attraction to the place is the Karachi Bakery which is another landmark in the area. If you are a visitor to Hyderabad, you must taste and carry a few packs of the cookies they have.

A variety of fruits are available throughout the year. It is also famous for its wholesale market for grain and other businesses. Jambagh, known for the flower market was once part of this market.

There is also a traditional perfume (Ittar) shop in...

Mozam Jahi Market is a delightful blend of history, architecture, and local culture that offers a unique shopping experience in Hyderabad. Stepping into this market feels like taking a journey back in time, with its majestic Indo-Saracenic architecture, complete with grand arches, elegant minarets, and a robust granite façade that has withstood the test of time. The market’s historical charm is further enhanced by recent restoration efforts, which have beautifully revived its old-world grandeur.

The market is a bustling hub, offering a wide variety of goods. From fresh fruits and vegetables to aromatic spices, dry fruits, and local sweets, there’s something here for everyone. The old-timey bakeries and cafes serving Irani chai and traditional biscuits are a must-visit, providing a nostalgic taste of Hyderabad’s culinary heritage. The friendly shopkeepers, many of whom have been running their businesses for generations, add a personal touch to the shopping experience.

One of the most appealing aspects of Mozam Jahi Market is its atmosphere. Whether you visit during the day or in the evening, the market is always lively, with a constant buzz of activity. The evenings, in particular, are enchanting, as the market lights up, highlighting its architectural beauty against the night sky.

However, navigating through the market can be a bit challenging due to the narrow lanes and the crowd, especially on weekends. Parking can also be a hassle, as the area is quite busy. But these are minor inconveniences compared to the overall experience.

In summary, Mozam Jahi Market is a gem in the heart of Hyderabad that offers more than just shopping—it offers a connection to the city’s rich past and vibrant present. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, it’s a place that should be on your...
