Setting and Ambience

Scenic Location: The beach is bordered by the Arabian Sea on one side and a unique freshwater lake—Vagkolam or Sweet Water Lake—on the other. Surrounded by green hills and palm groves, the setting is undeniably picturesque and peaceful.

Unspoiled Nature: While tourism has touched many parts of Goa, Kalacha largely maintains its natural, unspoiled charm with only a handful of shacks and huts off to one side of the shore.

Seclusion: This beach remains less crowded compared to its neighbor, Arambol, making it ideal for those seeking solitude or a relaxed, bohemian vibe.

What to Do

Swimming and Sunbathing: The soft golden sands, gentle waves, and relatively clean beach make it an ideal spot for swimming and sunbathing. The freshwater lake is shallow, perfect even for non-swimmers to enjoy a dip.

Kalacha beach just next to the aarambol beach is truly mesmerizing with sea on side and sweet water lake on the other.

Accessibility: if you are going by bike, then you can follow Google maps and park your vehicle at the last point of aarambol beach. If you are taking your car, park it in the main parking of aarambol beach, then walk on the beach till the end. Once you reach the rocks at the end of aarambol beach, there will be stairs taking you up towards shacks. Climb those and keep walking straight. The path is adorned with shops. At the end you will reach the beach and lake.

How was the place: the place was very beautiful. There were shacks both on the lake side and beach side. The only con was that there were too many people. It was Fully occupied as we went on a Saturday afternoon. So please plan your travel in off hours to experience the calm and serenity.

Here you will get a peicefull atmosphere. The beach is cleaner than Aarambol and it does have a fresh water lake. However, there is nothing great to write home about the lake. The surface of the lake is a bit slimy and the water isn't that clean, but the beach is good. You need to walk around half kilometer to reach there in the way while walking you can find so many small shops. There are so many cheaters here so Be alert don't speak much with the local people, they will steal your money. Very few tourists visits here. Good privacy & lack of...
