I really loved this place. The food was good. The ambience was great. The value was good. We were discussing how many more times we could fit this place into our schedule before leaving. But then we went to pay and there was a discrepancy on one item off the menu. The menu said 70 rupees they told us 100. We said we wanted to pay 70 rupees because that was the advertised and listed price and they told us that was old and no longer active and therefore we should just pay 100 even though they couldn't show us any menu that had it at 100. A very surprising conversation ensued in which I was accused of being American and that I should just pay them the extra money because it wasn't very much to me or that I shouldn't argue with them and they were right. My entire point was the menu that I showed them said 70 and I wanted to pay 70 and they would not accept that and we were disparaged and insulted and eventually just left very disheartened because we thought we had found a restaurant with very good food that we wanted to go to multiple times. And instead they ruined our night and made me feel bad for visiting...

Aether and Echo is one of the only really "western standard" restaurants in Arambol. Its clean, well presented and the staff are friendly. They offer a range of vegan, vegetarian and non-veg optuons ranging from tasty soups and smoothies, fresh salads like the Pickled Vegan with tofu, their original bowls including a sweet potato tofu bowl, to an enormous super-quality beef steak with yummy prawns. Prices are slightly more than the other restaurants in the area but well worth the extra in terms of quality of ingredients, quantity of food provided and skillful preparation to rival trendy high quality restaurants in big cities around the world. Absolutely charming green spot right by the beach, offering welcome respite from the sun in the afternoon, lovely espresso and sandwiches and - if you're lucky - engaging conversations with the lively manager Manisha.

Head over here for breakfast and lunch.They are still in the process of opening up and so the menus are a limited this time of year. But staff makes up for whatever might be lacking.
