Brackish Lagoons Alleppey — Attraction in Kerala

No words to express the feeling and scenery.Its so calming.We started off from the Alleppy boat house.You can negotiate for a houseboat and there would be a lot of options to choose from.Day cruise is between 11 till 5 pm.Lunch is provided onboard.If you dont want a houseboat look for a shikhara boat for a 2-3 hr cruise.The cruise itself is very calm and serene.You can enjoy the vast expanse of the backwaters,the smaller channels,the birds,life along the banks and scenery.The best time is post lunch closer to evening when it becomes less hot.Most boats comeback at 5pm.An overnight stay is not necessary as the boats are parked for the stay.Post 5 pm no boats...

The lagoons are so vast, we believed for a few moments that we had come upon the sea, only to realise that we're still on the backwaters. The lagoon stretches to the horizon on all three sides. The air here feels fresh (and of course the salt smell). To top it, the sight of houseboats and ferries peacefully chugging about around you is amazing. All this is happening while you are having a sumptuous breakfast of puttu-kadala and some delicious fried fish, followed by hot coffee on a houseboat of your own for the day. Can things...
