Ammayappan, we can't consider him as a God, he is a more like a Godfather for all who prays to him with a divine feeling. For me, he is my everything. This temple is where I find my home. A place where I find peace. A place where I'm emotionally attached. I never get this feeling from anywhere else. The best thing about this temple is, during pooja others let us see the pooja other than standing there till the pooja ends. So everyone could see the pooja. There is a big pond infront of the temple, with beautiful fishes and we could also see a pack of doves flying around the pond. It's an amazing feeling to feed fishes and doves and sit simply on the step watching the temple. Every poojas are scheduled and are followed according to the schedule. "Mrithyunjaya homam" will start on 10:00am everyday. This is a very special. You could feel a great divinity there during that time. After the noon pooja there is annadhaanam, everyone could have meals from there. If you need any help when you're in the temple, ask someone without a second thought, everyone will help you. If you need a cup of water or feeling ill all of a sudden just sign that. All helps you. Availability of drinking water and hygienic bathrooms, are an add-on. Overall my opinion is "Everyone should visit here once in their lifetime for sure" Om...

Read moreSreekanteswaram Mahadeva Temple is an ancient Shiva temple situated in Thiruvananthapuram, Capital city of Kerala. Pazhaya Sreekanteswaram Temple is the original abode of the Lord. Lord Shiva is the temple's Presiding Deity. Although his consort Sree Parvati has no idol, she is ever-present in the Sanctum. A Sanctum for Lord Sastha is within the Chuttambalam. Lord Ganapati, the serpent gods and Lord Krishna dwell outside the Chuttambalam. Many devotees argue that the idol worshipped as Bhootathan is actually a Yakshi. Lord Hanuman and Lord Murugan, both carved on pillars near the flagmast, receive worship. All the deities face east.
Adjacent to the shrine of Ganapati stands an idol of Goddess Parashakti who was worshiped in a nearby Kalari. In the Kalari she was worshipped with 'makaara panchakam' in the Shakteya Sampradaya. Mritunjaya Homam, Mrityunjaya archana, Jaladhara, Pinvilakku and Kuvala mala samarpanam are the most popular offerings made to Lord Shiva. The temple is under the control of Travancore...
