Sreevaraham Mukkolakkal Bhagavati Temple — Attraction in Kerala

Quite an underrated temple. It has an excellent ambience, large functions and rituals are routinely held here, has a very lively temple atmosphere and the calendar year for the temple has a lot of interesting things on offer. Should definitely visit when it's a festival season but otherwise also, with the backdrop of the small pond, it's a regular gathering spot for people to sit and talk. Very welcoming place. The only negatives I can think of are the lack of trees in the temple premises (which makes it pretty hot at times, even during the night time), mostly due to its location, the dirty water in the pond which does not stink but is not.fit.to take a dip.in and heat. Sreevaraham Mukkolackal Bhagavathi Temple is one of the old and renowned Devi shrines in Kerala. Made of 'Panchaloha, Devi's idol faces North, as also the 'Swambhoo' [Self - Sprung Earthen Mound].

The temple complex consists of the idols of 'Maha Ganapathi', 'Naagar', 'Brahma Rakshas', 'Thampuran and Yakshiamma', and Navagrahas besides 'Bhagavathi' who is all grace and poise.

A popular Bhagavathi/Devi temple near Manacad and Srivaraham. This is a well kept temple. Time 6to11am and 5to8pm. Bus available from Eastfort bus stand but own transport is better.The temple is on the Manacad to Airport/Paruthikuzhi Road on the road side.
