I went here for breakfast, and honestly, my first advice is to go early, around 7 AM, because many dishes finish fast. On my first visit, I reached by 9 AM and found the main items already over. Still, I got to try the masala dosa, rasa vada, bonda, and coffee.
The taste is really good and homely. The dosa was not crispy, but it had a soft texture with a tasty masala inside. The rasa vada felt light and comforting, the bonda was filling, and the coffee was strong enough to complete the meal. Simple food, but it hits the heart.
The place itself is small and a bit congested, and parking can be difficult. On weekends and holidays, the crowd gets heavy, so naturally, there is some waiting. During peak hours, even the staff might appear a little frustratedābut honestly, with the limited space and so many people rushing in, itās understandable. We also get irritated when we wait, but if we look from their side, they are managing a lot with very few resources.
What makes this place stand out is that the rates are very budget-friendly. For the price, the food quality and taste are excellent. The staff, despite the rush, remain polite and keep things moving.
For me, itās simpleādonāt go expecting luxury space or fast service during peak hours. Go with patience, enjoy the dish, and leave with a smile. For a common manās pocket and taste buds, this place really works well. I came out happy, and that matters more than...

But the second highlight, an unforgettable experience, came from my visit to Gauri Shankar Hotel in Thiruvananthapuram. This place is a vegetarian paradise, celebrated for its authentic South Indian flavors, inviting ambiance, and budget-friendly culinary delights. Honestly, itās such a charming spot. The moment I stepped inside, I felt a wave of warmth in my heart, as if the essence of South Indian culture enveloped me. The soft background music, wall pictures, and that incredible, mouth-watering aroma of the food itās a sensory experience like no other. The scent, rich with spices, takes you deep into the heart of South India, carrying a hint of tradition, history, and the purity of their culinary craftsmanship. The whole place exudes a welcoming and unpretentious vibe, embodying the true spirit of its people, who manage to create such a harmonious atmosphere without any need for show. And the food .. oh, the taste is nothing short of heavenly. Itās a perfect blend of authenticity and tradition, leaving you craving for more. šāØ You...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHave been to this place quite a few times. Ignore the owner's attitude the moment you step into this restaurant or else he will ruin your mood. He's simply rude and acts like he's giving food for free. Once when we were looking for the QR code to make the payment via UPI, that man suddenly shouted that there's no gpay and "Ningade thalaykk mukalil thanne ezhuthi vechitundayirunnallo gapy illenn." I don't know whether there was such a board displayed there, as it's already a task to find a seat in that congested space. Whatever it is, such an unprofessional behavior was really annoying insult to us which made us decide to not to step into that place again. Leaving aside that, their prices are low as their food is just average. The aviyal served with the Ada dosai is just a coconut gravy and has no vegetables in it. Coffee is also not a good choice as it often tastes like a black coffee due to very less milk content. Kesari and snack items are good. The ambience also gives a nostalgic vintage vibe. The waiters are well behaved...
