Don’t choose this agency for mountain climbs. They just hire Nepali guides who work for cheaper than the local guides…this is what they told me, so their comment of them being more advanced is rubbish. READ ON! The guides once we arrived to the camp tried to cheat with the climbing permit, asked from me to pay them directly so they can pay the guy who collects the money for the permit. But when I asked this guy he said there is no fee to pay. The guides after this they became very rude to me onwards because they couldn’t put the money into their pocket so as the friend guide of my guide had to return the fee to the other guy who blindly paid them. Also they didn’t ensure we have all the equipment. They promised extra headlamps which turned out there was none when climbing the mountain so as there was no rope to climb! Advanced guides?! Hmmm. Shame because after 6.5 months spent in Nepal doing many treks I have never experienced this kind of attitude caring only for the money but not for clients neither cheating nor rudeness! Despite not being able to climb the mountain due to the agencies fault of not having the necessary equipment they refunded me only 30% of what I paid. Also every question I asked at the agency the answer was always different. Despite they said for example boots are included and then they sent me to go and rent one. Do yourself a favour and just hire a local a guide. They are more experienced in their terrain as the Nepalis they hire aren’t the well-known Sherpas but from the Tamang region where there...
Read moreIn today's world running a business is hard. Very hard. Especially if you are not a multi-crore travel company, not even located right in the heart of Leh city. Running such a business with absolute honesty, humility and oh-so-niceness seems just impossible. This is the first thought that came to mind when I walked in here, a place which I had merely chanced upon walking from my hotel to the main market.
The owner is one of the most genuine persons I have ever come across, to the point that it may feel like he's faking it. But give it 10 more minutes and you shall see that he's not. He advises you as a member of his own family, and does not seem to care about any profits: which both gave us an insane deal, and also the surprise as to how does his business even run. In a place like Leh, which has become quite negatively commecialised, this person makes every effort for you to not feel it, and assures you of the absolute safe, efficient, afforable and comfortable itinerary.
I could have written about what services I took from here, or how much it cost, or how the trip was (all of which were undoubtedly smooth and excellent, else I'd have had something to complain about), but I chose to write about the person (Niyas Ji, or as I can see referred to as Neo in other reviews), for his warmth, frankness, and manner of dealing with a customer.
PS: Even if you do not care about a pleasant person, give this place a try, you WILL get a very good deal, compared to any other place in Leh...
Read moreSatisfactory and Comfortable experience. We went to Leh for 5 N 6 Days and therefore, researched a lot about itinerary, transportation, taxi etc beforehand but choose to be there and booked the service in-person. That is where we met the owner of Himalayan Trail Adventure, they were very welcoming and after comparing their itinerary, price etc. we found them very resonable.
We booked for 2 N 3 Days with them to cover local sightseeing, Nubra valley via Khardungla and Pangong via Changla pass. It was a satisfactory experience overall. The Guesthouse booked was nice, rooms wer very clean and comfortable, food was amazing. Great Hospitality over all by Ladakhhi people everywhere. (Thank You so much)
I just have small request and little disappointment that - we missed visiting Rancho's school (unable to go as it was closed; we were early) and Hall of fame (closed due to Monday) and no one bothered to help us to cover them both although we had time. As a tourist, its difficult for us to know what and when its closed or open or the timings. As a guide but, they should have known about this so that accordingly we would have planned. Although, these two places were covered in package but we were unable to visit. I wish we would have :)
I would have appreciated otherwise :)
Thank you for all your warm welcome, support and services. I would recommend Himalayan...
