Ganapatiphule beach is Clean and Beautiful with Blue water, white sand and scenic view, A heaven, near to Mumbai (300 KM). it is Breathtaking drive to reach here and never before experience in weekend with overnight Stay specially with Family.
Reaching Here : We visited this place, 31st December 2024 with Family of 4, including puppy.
We used Mumbai – Chiplun (Goa Highway NH17 & NH66) – Chiplun - Sangmeshwar – Ganpatiphule, 330 KM, – very good road (in between potholes of 3-4 KM max). Started 06:30 AM from Mumbai and reached Ganapati Phule at 2:00 PM.
You will feel Breathtaking Ride, never before driving experience, lush green Jungal on both sides of road, passing through western ghat hills on "Sarpila curves", amazing valley view.
Reached MTDC at 2:00 PM, very easy access, just opposite the “Ganpati Mandir Complex”. Beach is located in a lush green area surrounded by palm tree. Personnel Vehicle (Car / Bike etc) is recommended to reach here, Sate transport Bus's are also play from, Chiplun and Ratnagiri.
PLACE TO STAY : Options to stay are many. Best place is to stay at MTDC just on beach, all rooms are sea view rooms. Other options are Ocean View Residency, Hotel Landmark, Sagar Drshan Beach Resort, Atharva Residency however not on beach or sea view rooms. We stayed at MTDC.
GETTING AROUND : Very Clean Beach with white sand and safe for swim with Family. It is not very deep to explore upto 200 meters. You can easily swim in the water and the waves are gentle.
Since is a very long beach you will always find empty places to have bath with your family. Also MTDC Bamboo house is having private beach
Just seat, inside the sea water knee deep clear, relax and enjoy by the sea bath and have sun bath.
A very calm quite and relaxing beach experience with swimming and sunbathing. Walking in the sea beach in the morning, is a excellent experience which you should never miss. Sunset here is awesome, keep this two in agenda.
Waters sports here is having multiple choice. Hiring a boat to take a ride upto 2kms inside the sea at a rate of 100 per seat. A water scooter, Dragon ride, Banana ride, Bumpy ride, parasailing are also available for people to hire and take a joy ride. Camel & bike rides are available for visitors.
The beach is next to temple therefore you get lots of shops and eateries around. Life guards are around to help you in case you have any problem.
Toilets and changing rooms are typically dirty but if you are staying in the MTDC Resort, then no issues as they have ample number of showers for changing and cleaning yourself before entering your room.
While roaming in city side, this place is to some extent like Goa street, Prachin Konkan, Magic house. There are 6/7 beaches near Ganapatipule. On the way to Jaigad Fort (20KM), or Ratnagiri (20KM) you will find 2 more nice beaches. These are less known and without any facilities, but you can enjoy nature at fullest.
Must Do - Travel Plan : (1) Bag Pack - Camera, Puncture kit, Dry Food, lots of water, only sandal (no Sport shoes please). Towel and Extra Cloths for Bath, books, music. Please leave all your bag, footwear at your stay place to enjoy at sea beach.
(2) Before start travel, get your vehicle breaks and fuel checked. There are CNG pump / fuel pumps on the way in every 30-40KM .
(3) Mumbai to Sangmeshwer road is newly build. Road from Sangmeshwar to Ganapati phule is also newly build but narrow and due to dance forest both side, snack curves, makes blind spot hence it is good to be cautious while driving. Avoid travel post sunset as it can be very tricky on these roads.
This place is strictly meant for taking a break from city-life and experience the serenity of nature. However your cell phones...
