Dined in at this place. Place has limited seating. Cleanliness was good and staff service was prompt. Food could have been much better. We ordered: Kothimbir vadi, chapati, steam rice, maharashtrian dal (varan), methi besan, baingan bharta, paneer masala. -Kothimbir vadi and methi besan largely consisted of only besan (methi besan had lumpy and uncooked besan), with traces of the respective greens. -Paneer masala consisted of a brown onion gravy with an overload of chole masala, adjusted for level of spiciness, and overly tangy. -Maharashtrian dal (called varan) was only steamed daal, without tadka, drowned in water, with salt as the only condiment. -Baingan bharta, rice and chapati seemed to be the only decent dishes of the meal. The quantities were adequate, with one dish being sufficient for two people.
Overall, my experience at this restaurant, as a foodie and a Maharashtrian, was of considerable disappointment. Would not recommend the restaurant as a choice for meal unless no better options...
Read moreOur taxi driver suggested this place for lunch when we asked him for a vegetarian eatery. They open late in morning and have restricted timings which is about the only disadvantage. They serve vegetarian food either Maharastrian or North Indian. No meals are served. I tried their chapathis once with masoor dal and kulith pitla. The chapathis were made without oil. The dishes are spiced as per customer request - mild, medium and spicy. The portion sizes are good and the dishes not very spicy. They serve homely food. Prices are slightly higher than at other restaurants. They do have take away and even provide containers to carry food for journeys. Service is quick and efficient. The wait staff are polite and helpful. The ambience is simple with laminate topped tables and...
Read moreI had visited this place five years ago and had a good experience, so I decided to revisit in early May 2025. Unfortunately, it was disappointing this time. My very first order included a spoiled bowl of Kharwas. When I informed the man at the counter, he showed no reaction. The waiter admitted the whole batch was spoiled, blaming a friend who prepares it. No apology was offered.
The overall food quality has also declined, and the taste wasn't as good as before. It seems like a typical case of a once-popular place losing its charm and standards. I hope they improve their quality and stop serving spoiled food, and most importantly, stop taking customers...
