Super duper overhyped hotel. As far as the taste goes, have had similar type of food multiple places in konkan belt so it's average taste.
Had ordered Surmai thali and chicken thali. Surmai thali was normal taste having surmai fried deep in oil coated with rice floor. Chicken thali was too normal taste.. rates are on way higher side. Order took long time, about 20 mins, to arrive. At the outset, it may not look long waiting but considering the wait time in other restaurants for similar order and sitting with strangers on the table with mouth shut, 20 mins looked too long.
This is NOT a hotel where you can have food with leisure, relaxed or enjoy every morsel. If you are family of 5-6 members, then probably you can eat relaxed. If you are 3 or less, then it's problem. Reason being, sitting arrangement is 3X3 on most of the tables and chairs are non movable type. Something like what they have in ST canteen at bus stand. So, to accommodate max people, they force you to sit in a row even if you are from the same family. That is, if you are 2 or 3, normal trend is sit opposite to each other so that you can chat and eat leisurely but here, all of you in one family will have to sit next to each other in a row, leaving opposite side vacant so that others 3 or 4 unknowm to you can sit. Worst case, if you are 2, third seat in your row can be given to some other stranger or another family of 4, where in, 3 will be opposite to you and 1 next to you. In this way, through multiple combinations, you could end up sharing the table with multiple strangers and hence none of the time it gives you privacy like we get in other conventional restaurants. When that happens, i.e. when some other people are sitting opposite to you waiting for their food and watching you eat, it becomes uncomfortable and you cannot eat with leisure. Neither can you chat with your family members. Basically, you don't enjoy the food despite shelling out premium price.
Waiting time for the food on the table is too high.
In summary, will not go again. There are couple of other hotels on this stretch of the road.
This place doesn't have it's own parking facility but vehicles can be parked...
Read moreEntered at 1.10pm. Almost all tables full. We 3 sat on a 4 seater which could fit us 3 only. Seats are not individual and are metal. Sharp corners. Ambience is very basic. A glass covered table has mockup of all the food they serve. You can choose as per items in thali or individual dishes. We were told it will take 30mins as it is first come first serve. A few vlogs did mention this. Gave order for the following which came to us after 20mins.
Chicken fry thali - 3/5 An average tasting chicken sukka dish with 2 chappatis, little bit of rice, vati gravy, vati solkadi. Chicken was a bit tough but tasted ok.
Pomfret thali - 4/5 1.5 small size pomfret fry with 2 chappatis, little bit of rice, vati gravy, vati solkadi. Pomfret fry was ok but fresh with minimal masala.
Chappatis were just about warm. Solkadi was watery but good. Ordered one separately.
First arrivals got served first, rest of the tables were left looking at the first table. Hilarious, until you got yours...
People coming in were standing around almost staring at each table to sort of force people to eat faster. They should be made to wait outside until a table is free and cleaned.
Parking - only few cars possible inside compound after a good slope climb. Few cars can be parked...

Personally, I can vouch for their fish thali—it's hands down the most delicious I've ever tasted.
Just a tip: Arrive a bit early to avoid any potential waiting period, as this place tends to get busy. Trust me, it's worth the visit!
Additionally, they have taken the menu card to the next level by making a model of their thalis, adding a unique touch to the...
