Historic old temple of lord Shree Ganesha ! Ganesh temple established by Late Saint Morya gosawi in the 16th century at Chinchwad . Morya Gosawi was a son of Waman Shaligram of Shali , Ta Bidar in Karnataka and was a disciple of Nayan Bharati who proclaimed that Morya would become an ardent follower of Lord Ganesha and the Lord will become his son .

Morya came to Morgaon and started worshipping Lord Moreshwar there and Lord Chintamani at Theur both near Pune . At his old age Lord appeared in his dream and asked him not to visit him at those places . He told him that instead he would visit him at chinchwad . Eventually at the Teerth of Brahmkamandalu , Morya was graced by Lord ganesha in the grain . Morya constructed a simple temple of 10 m x 6 m x 13 m to worship the Lord . Ultimately Morya realized he and the Lord are the same . After having a son called Chintamani and the death of his wife Umabai & Guru nayan Bharati's Sanjeevan Samadhi ( to enter a tomb when alive after realizing one's work in this world is over ) , Morya Gosawi , himself took the Sanjeevan samadhi . He is known to establish Ganpatya Panth in Hiduism .

His son Chintamani proved himself an incarnation of Lord Chintamani before then Saint Tukaram . So Tukaram called him Dev . there were six more Devs in his lineage . The Samadhis of all the Devs are in the temple . When Chintamani took Samadhi , an image of Lord Chintamani emerged on the Samadhi which can be seen even today .

The temple has huge Tulsi vrindavan and a two storeyed octagonal Deepstambha . this is a unique deepstambha not having first storey the usual Deepmala but having big elephant head on all eight sides just below the commencement of deepmalasfrom second floor .

The temple at the bank of Pavana is neat & clean and a visitor experiences the pious atmosphere graced by the Lord and the Samadhis of Morya Gosawi & Devs .

Every Sunday and Tuesday the mandir trust distribute Prasad after evening...

Visited on Sankasht Chaturthi Place was crowded but Darshan happened in easy way.Lines formed in open area which was best. Having story wall so people can go through it.also helpful for kids to read. On the bank of river Pavana, The Samadhi temple of Shri Moraya Gosavi is situated. Here Shri Moraya Gosavi took Sanjeevan Samadhi. This is a jaagrut (live) temple. This temple of Chintamani Maharaj is modeled in such a way that devotee can see the Ganapati idol which is above the Samadhi of Shri Moraya Gosavi. Chintaman Maharaji built a temple of Ganesha (with Siddhi, Buddhi), above the cave. It was constructed in such a way that Shri Ganesha’s idol would be right above the head of Shri Moraya Gosavi. . According to the English calendar, from 27th October 1658 to 13th June 1659. The temple is built in stone. After entering into the temple, there is a big sabha mandap (hall). Walking through the hall, there is Samadhi of Shri Moraya Gosavi. There is an murti of idols include Dwibhuj Ganapati (Two handed) along with Siddhi and Buddhi Arjuneshwara Festivals like Sanjeevan Samadhi Mahotsav music concerts and distribution of Mahaprasada are organized here. Many people savor the mahaprasada here. Shlok Meaning One who illuminated the corrupt world with his glory, may the follower of Ganapthya Marg, Shri Moraya Gosavi be pleased. He is residing permanently on the bank of river Pavana. May he protect those who follow the righteous path. I bow to Shri Moraya Gosavi.

Morya Gosavi or Moraya Gosavi (Morayā Gosāvi) alias Moroba Gosavi was a prominent saint of the Hindu Ganapatya sect, which considers the Lord Ganesha Ganesha as the Supreme God. Morya Gosavi is considered the chief spiritual progenitor of the Ganapatyas and has been described as the "most famous devotee" of Ganesha. Chinchwad has shrines to the departed Devs, chief of which is that of Morya. Morya's memorial temple is a low plain building (30' x 20' x 40') with a square hall or mandap and an octagonal inner shrine, inscribed with a Marathi inscription: "This temple was begun on the bright twelfth of Kartik (November–December) Shaka 1580 (A.D. 1658-9) Vilambi Samvatsara and finished on Monday the bright fourth of Ashadha, Vikari Samvatsara".[7] The temples enjoyed the revenue from the eight villages given by Aurangzeb in the past.[7] The sanjeevan samadhi of Morya Gosavi as well as the Ganesha temple constructed by him still attracts many Ganesha devotees to Chinchwad.[1][6] Devotees believe that though Morya Gosavi attained moksha (salvation) but "his presence continues to endow the shrine with sacred significance."[1] On the circumbulation path (Pradakshina path) of the Morgaon Ganesha temple, there is a tree near the Kalpavrushka Mandir. The tree is believed to have the spot where Morya Gosavi underwent penance.[12] An image of Morya Gosavi is worshipped in the temple complex too. Morya Gosavi is also credited to have popularized the Morgaon temple.[
