Venna Lake & Dam — Attraction in Maharashtra

Situated on main road, it is one of the biggest contributor for vehicular traffic jams at the entrance of Mahabaleshwar.

A mid sized natural water body formed by natural spring and rain water.

Boat riding (only) is available as recreation sport. You have options of either rowing your self / use paddle boat or hire an easily available professional boat rower.

Since the water is used for drinking purpose, no motor boats are allowed and neither swimming is permitted.

It takes almost 35-45 minutes for a professional rower to cover entire lake.

There is a hanuman mandir located on the banks of this lake. Add another 15 minutes in your itinerary if you intend to get down and visit this temple.

During summer season when water level go down, occasionally you can spot few fishes, frogs and at times...

Venna Lake is constructed artificially over an area of 28 acres. The periphery of the lake is about 7-8 km long. This lake is not only famous among tourists but it is also famous among pilgrims. About one-third of the lake is meant for pilgrimage.

The lake offers amazing boating facilities and horse rides to the tourists. Venna Lake has a lot to offer to nature lovers as well. The lake is surrounded by lush green Chhatrapati Pratapsinh gardens. If you want to spend your evening in a peaceful setting of the adjacent Chhatrapati Pratapsinh garden, you can come to this place and take part in a number of activities as well as relish the local food in more than a few nearby...

I really don't like this place because it's normal boating... just you sit and boat moves... it's very simple boat ride ..a.the rains if you go the water depletes ,so to ride the boat you have to to do rock climbing down side and up side both... It's very slippery since it's just the mud which was covered with water and since we are going in winters or summers ,the rain water gets depleted and it's all m u d d y ...very difficult .. definitely the beauty and the serene can be enjoyed... You have to travel a lot to reach this Veena lake so I would definitely...
