BNAC review

The Bhavan’s Nature and Adventure Centre is a “hidden gem” tucked into the Bhavan’s College campus

Open to the public on Sunday and to groups on weekdays by prior appointment.

There are several sections which not only held our students (from NGO Angel Xpress Foundation) in thrall but also our adult volunteers. Visitors are taken around by volunteers who are knowledgeable and obviously enjoy what they do.

In addition, they’re well organised so students are taken around by volunteers in small groups.

First we went to the animal rescue section. After a short engaging talk, we were shown a duck (how it differs from goose, migration etc), Guinea pig (different from porcupine), rabbit (different from hare) and hedgehog (different from Porcupine), a Saint Barnard and a walk around to see geese, rabbits, turtles, tortoise, many species of colourful birds and huge Burmese pythons. Students got to see and in some cases, touch them animals.

Then the nature trail where we were shown many varieties of trees including the silk cotton and Kailash. Also why butterflies are important and specimens of a variety of (dead) butterflies and moths.

Followed by the Zipline (big favourite), walk through a tunnel, archery and commando net.

I loved that there was drinking water at several places, so our students could refill their bottles.

The washroom was clean.

We spent a little about 3 hours there which included Pre-ordered hot lunch before we returned.

Strongly recommended for a fun...

This is a hidden gem in Mumbai and we were glad to make a visit here.

This is an adventure park with a vision to spread awareness about nature and the different species inhabiting along with some good exertion activities.

It's open on Sundays between 2 pm to 6 pm. The closest Metro Station being Azad Nagar (450 m)

I highly recommend to visit if you are a true nature lover and/or take your kids they will surely enjoy this place.

The entry ticket is 180/- per head for age group 3 and above. This includes different activities like nature trail, animal pet care session, archery and zip line (flying fox). The entry closes at 5 pm.

They also have multiple other activities. We took a Full Adventure that cost 400/-

You can also throw a birthday party here (kid friendly) but will need prior booking and charges.

The volunteers are super friendly and all the safety precautions are been taken here. They have a separate 'Evergreen' plants section, bonsai and butterfly section and also a mini aquarium.

The animals are all rescued and well trained and taken care of which is what I really appreciate. Many different varieties of plant species as well to surely increase your Botany knowledge.

Overall for a productive Sunday,...

It was an amazing experience. The nature fest was organised so well with all volunteers to help. A mix of activities like origami, actual real pets rabbits, duck, hamster etc. Adventure activities like zipline, rope climbing, wall climbing were amazing too. Definitely recommend.

One of the best nature camps..we attended the boot camp and was very well organised!! Kids throughout enjoyed and had a great time doing many activities...military based.. zip-line..mud walks..tug of war and ofcourse seeing some birds and animals which are taken care at the nature camp.

Nice place to visit. They have many different different types of birds and animals. Collection of fishes are awesome. I won't recommend to visit this place as they don't have much adventure to do, clicking of pictures and taking videos are not allowed. The adventure's starting price is 300. This place is open only on Sundays. In that also they have old timings, something 2:00 p.m-7:00 p.m. There isn't much to see. You would complete seeing this place within 2 hours. Didn't enjoyed much.

Beautiful piece of greenery in a busy metropolis. I went here with my kid on a Sunday. Totally worth it and had a lot of fun pulling water...

A novel experience amidst the city. It is open to the public on Sundays starting 2 pm. The basic package costing ₹ 180/- (100/- for senior citizens) includes the following: 1. Pet interaction: USP of the visit, where you get to know and touch a few rescued and pet animals. We petted a rabbit, a hedgehog, a guinea pig and a Saint Bernard. I realised the animals/birds they show and let you interact, depends on the group dynamics. Since, my group had too many kids they brought in a Saint Bernard. The next group got a chance to pet a Tibetan Mastiff, since it had more adults. The Burmese python especially the Ivory one (white) is one of the exotic species you get to see. 2. Nature Trail: A walk through across the nature center with information about various plants/trees. 3. Zip line: The distance is too short and not that exciting. 4. Archery: You will get 5 shots. It's like a demo in case you wish to buy more. Total time: 1.5- 2 hrs.
