Visit Justdial for Address, Contact Number, Reviews & Ratings, Photos, Maps . New Delhi Kali Bari is a Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Kali and the center for Bengali culture in New Delhi, India. Established in 1930s, it is situated on Mandir Marg, close to Laxminarayan Temple (Birla Mandir) in Delhi. After several years of demands by the burgeoning expatriate Bengali population, one acre of land was allotted on the new Mandir Marg (temple road), next to the Laxminarayan Temple. The small unpretentious temple of Goddess Kali came up shortly thereafter, with a pratima (idol) resembling the one at Kalighat Kali Temple in Kolkata. The mandir committee was formalized in 1935 with Subhas Chandra Bose as the first president[1] and the first Mandir Building was inaugurated by Sir Justice Manmatha Nath Mukherjee. After that the authority established a building for the visitors and guest. Bengali tourists can book rooms or dormitory for staying there. There is an old and enriched library in Delhi Kalibari. The Durga puja celebrated at the Kalibari, is one of the oldest Durga Pujas in the city. It first started in 1925. The original temple of Kali Bari was situated on Baird Road (today's Bangla Sahib Road), where the local Bengali community gathered for the annual Durga Puja. After the present temple came up after 1931, it shifted here. Till today, it continues to be the nodal point for the hundreds of puja committees in Delhi, and is widely revered among Delhi Bengalis.[2][3] Only older pujas in Delhi are at Kashmere Gate, organized by Delhi Durga Puja Samiti, which started in 1910, and the Timarpur puja organised by the Timarpur and Civil Lines puja samiti, estd. 1914 .[4] The puja celebration at Kali Bari continued to follow the traditional style, with traditional ekchalar thakur (single frame for idols) and sholar kaaj. Even puja rituals have remained unchanged since 1936 and traditional competitions in Rabindra sangeet and recitation are still organised. Mr Swapan Kumar Chakraborty is the current President of Delhi Kalibari. Artisans are brought in from Kolkata to build the puja pandal. LocationEdit The temple is located on the Mandir Marg, situated west of Connaught Place in New Delhi. The temple is easily accessible from the city by local buses, taxis and auto-rickshaws. Nearest Delhi Metro station is R.K.Ashram Marg, located about 2 km away.

New Delhi Kalibari the center for Bengali culture in New Delhi, one of the oldest Maa Kali temple in Delhi-NCR. One acre land of Goddess Kali with a Pratima resembling the one at Kalighat Kali Temple in Kolkata. The mandir committee was formalized in 1935 with Subhas Chandra Bose as the first president, and the first mandir building was inaugurated by Sir Manmatha Nath Mukherjee. Location wise Kalibadi temple placed in heart of Delhi, very much close to Cannought place and next to Laxmi Narayan Temple. It`s pretty old built-in 1930. The best things you like Murti of Kali Maa, so mesmerizing. Just go there, fold your hands, and look into the Kali Maa Idol and you somehow feel the divine presence. This place is a must-visit place during Durgo Pujo`s time. The place is quiet and serene and a visit to the Kali Bari evokes a sort of mental peace. The Kali puja (Bengali`s worship maa kali in Diwali which is known as Kali puja) here is held in the traditional style and the puja rituals have remained unchanged. For constructing the puja pandal, artisans and decorators are brought from Kolkata. The New Delhi Kali Bari is easily accessible by Metro, buses, taxis, electric rickshaws.

Located at the end of Mandir Marg, near the famous Birla Temple, Delhi Kali Bari is much more than just a temple; it's the heart of Delhi's Bengali community and a serene spiritual retreat in the bustling capital. Established in the 1930s, its history is deeply intertwined with the city's Bengali population, and it holds the special distinction of having Subhas Chandra Bose as its first president. The temple is an oasis of calm. Stepping inside, you are greeted by the beautifully crafted idol of Goddess Kali, a mesmerizing figure adorned with intricate jewels and clothing. While the temple may not be as grand or sprawling as some of Delhi's other religious sites, its unpretentious and heartfelt devotion gives it a unique charm. There's a tangible sense of peace here, a quiet piety that makes you feel instantly at ease. The sound of traditional prayers and the fragrance of incense create a deeply spiritual atmosphere. Delhi Kali Bari truly comes alive during Durga Puja. The entire complex transforms into a vibrant hub of cultural activities and festive energy. The pandals are magnificently decorated, and the air resonates with the rhythmic beats of the dhak (traditional Bengali drums). This is when the temple becomes a focal point for Bengalis and devotees from all communities, who gather to celebrate the victory of good over evil. The Bhog (prasad) is a highlight, and the stalls serving traditional Bengali food add to the festive spirit. Whether you're looking for a peaceful moment of prayer, a taste of authentic Bengali culture, or to witness one of Delhi's oldest and most vibrant Durga Puja celebrations, Delhi Kali Bari is a must-visit. It's a place that beautifully blends devotion, history, and community spirit, offering a slice of Bengal in the...

New Delhi Kali Bari Guest House is a horrible and most worst place for staying. After reaching there they denied to provide room since I had booked room before 4 months with money. Atlast they agreed to give rooms. Staffs are not well behaved. The Rooms, coridors, toilets, kitchens, sinks, basins are so dirty, unhygienic. These areas are not cleaned. The condition of toilets can't be described. It is very difficult to use it for a gentle men or women.Food is totally tasteless, below quality. Hygiene is not maintained properly. Drinking water is not available. But for all of these services they charged 240 rs per day for per person. Mattress, Pillow, bedsheet and bedding arrangement are also charged separately for per day per piece basis. But the wooden bed is broken, bedsheets give dirty smell. No plug point is available inside the room.To give charge a phone in office room 30 rs is needed. Office staffs were very disciplined, they were not able to break any rules and regulations, notices etc in case of booking and in case of surrender few hours (4 hrs) for staying there. For 4 hours they took the charge of whole day.But they were particularly able to break the notice of "No Smoking". They are very much expert to smoke in office room infront of ladies, children not to give importance the notice. This internal condition of guest house can't be understood by seeing the shining and polished outer environment of the organization.By taking the name of Maa Kali they are operating a worst horrible business. They actually cheat with people. I think Maa Kali will not...
