Temple has good parking in front of lakeside entrance which is being enough for scores of cars. Temple is clean and well maintained with florists near the entrance. Dedicated place for keeping shoes also . Coupons for Archana and offering materials can be purchased from counter inside the temple on the left hand side at nominal costs. Provision for prayer offerings to Sanidev and Navagrahas esp on Saturdays also exist. In fact it is much more convenient to offer prayers to Sanimaharaj here than the usual Sani temples which are overcrowded with long queues. Prasad is also offered around 7.30 pm to all . Prasad is very tasty and hygienic. South Indian style temple architecture. Less known fact is that Hindu Marriages also conducted in the temple premises since February 1990. The parking lot in front of the temple is now fully functional and is free of cost. It is spacious with provision of parking about 40 cars without any inconvenience. The construction work which troubled a few years back is also complete and the going is smooth. Arrangements for keeping footwear also made near the entrance. A few flower shops are there for people who want to bestow the gods with garlands or adorn their hair in typical South Indian style. Fresh Vanmala Garlands for marriages can also be ordered here costing a few hundred rupees depending on the flowers used. There is a counter inside to the left of the entrance where we can buy coupons for Archana. At a nominal price of 60 rupees, you get a basket of coconut, 2 bananas flowers etc and flower petals etc and you can get your prayers done by the priest by giving name and gotram details also if you know . Prayers to Shanidev can also be offered at 20 rupee coupon where you are provided a black cloth wick and oil. There is a counter of about 125 Diya’s where you can light them. A row of 25 Diya’s is bent so cannot be utilised. Otherwise around 150 Diya’s could be lighted at a time. The Navagraha temple entrance is third on the left. It is very convenient and cleanly maintained and dozens of devotees can offer their prayers simultaneously after lighting the Diyas

The Uttara Swami Malai Temple, also known as the Malai Mandir, is a serene and spiritually uplifting spot located in the heart of South Delhi. Dedicated to Lord Swaminatha (Murugan), the temple is a haven for devotees seeking peace and divine blessings amidst the bustle of the city. Perched atop a small hill, the temple offers a tranquil environment with its beautiful South Indian-style architecture. The intricate carvings, traditional gopurams (towering entrances), and the clean, well-maintained premises give it a distinctly South Indian charm. As you climb the steps leading to the temple, the view of the surroundings provides a moment of calm and reflection. The main deity, Lord Murugan, is awe-inspiring, and the temple also houses shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesha, and other deities. The rituals and pujas performed here follow traditional Tamil customs, adding to the temple's authenticity and cultural significance. Special celebrations during festivals like Thaipusam and Karthigai Deepam attract large crowds, enhancing the spiritual experience. The atmosphere is serene, making it ideal for meditation and reflection. The temple is especially popular among the Tamil and South Indian communities in Delhi, but it welcomes devotees from all backgrounds. The priests are friendly and approachable, and visitors can participate in the pujas or sit quietly in prayer. Parking is available, but during peak times, especially on festival days, the area can get crowded. However, the temple’s peaceful aura compensates for any minor inconveniences. Overall, Uttara Swami Malai Temple is a must-visit for those seeking a spiritual retreat in Delhi. Its blend of culture, tradition, and serenity makes it one of the city's most treasured temples.
