I visited the Punyadham Ashram with my family during our Pune visit. We wanted to look for a Senior Citizens home for a relative. We called and asked for an appointment to visit the ashram. When we reached their manager received us and took us around the premises. We were shown around the beautiful picturesque Siddeshwar Temple with the Shikhar next to it. Next we visited their Senior Citizen's Home, with which we were very impressed. Compared to the other senior citizen's homes which we had visited looking for a place for our relative, this place seemed heavenly. And finding a place like this in the middle of Pune, with so many open spaces and no traffic sounds or disturbances in the middle of nature seemed like the perfect place for our Aunt and uncle to stay. As far as the rooms and facilities go, the rooms were rather impressive. We could see house keeping staff everywhere cleaning and maintaining the rooms and surrounding areas. The rooms seemed well lit with natural light and spacious enough with two beds and attached bathrooms (with western toilets). Afterwards we were taken to the dining hall where we saw all the resident seniors happily enjoying their meals and mingling. The food was quite good. Next we visited their Gaushala to see the cows, whose milk gets used up by the Ashram itself. The kids found the calf there who was just a few weeks old quite cute and didnt want to leave it and kept petting it. Next we visited their convention hall and library. The library was bustling with college students who make use of the library and its resources for studying for various entrance exams and a few seniors who were reading newspapers. All in all made for a good picnic spot as well, as we sat in their gardens on the grass, while the children played in the park on the slides and swings, while we soaked up the winter sun. Our aunt and uncle definitely loved the place and they are really considering moving there. Date of visit:...
Read moreI like your temple near NIBM, it's kept neat and clean with good culture and religious gathering time to time; we attend most of them. We sometimes comes there for jogging as well.
But is it soo important to play music all the time, especially in the early morning? I hope that you are aware about people living around your temple, of different age, cast, status, religion etc.
My kids are not able to concentrate on their studies in the morning time, even if we close all our windows, doors; we can still hear music in the morning silence. Also we miss the morning peace and birds twittering :(
There are some people in my society who do shift jobs, and a good, peaceful sleep in daytime is must for them. Also there are elderly people and some infant kids, who require morning sleep in silence.
We request you to please take the matter seriously and avoid unnecessary noise in such a peacefull environment here, far from city's hush and...
Read moreIt is a very well maintained place and is very peaceful and quiet, especially if you are looking for a place to meditate or spend quiet time in presence of the supreme being. They have a library where many students come to study in undisturbed environment. The place has a sweet charm where you can worship and feed cows. The ashram has an old age home where admission is as per wait listed candidates' turn. Huge idols of Shiva,Parvati and Ganesh atop Kailash mountain and another one of Lord Ganesha with Riddhi-Siddhi are the most striking feature of the ashram. There is a lecture hall where they have theosophical discussions and discourses by Sudhanshu Maharaj, founder of the ashram. If it is some peace of mind and quiet retrospective time that you seek, then do visit this place. However, it is a kind request to maintain the cleanliness and sanctity of the premises and not treat it as a picnic spot to come, have fun and spoil...
