We've visited this restaurant 3 times, once at its new place and twice when it was near The Spices here in Undri.
The food is here is really good. However, we ordered Malai Kofta (White gravy, sweet) all 3 times, and it was different all 3 times. First time, it was perfect. It had those red and green dried cherry bits on top that you add in Paan, not sure why, but nothing much to think about. Second time, the gravy had methi leaves, green all over. My dad does not eat green so it ruined his mood but it did not affect the taste at all. Third time, both the kofta and the gravy had green dried and crushed methi bits despite asking for no green in the curry. It was still good, though. I love their garlic naan, just wish they'd peel the garlic better because it still has the garlic peel/shell on it sometimes. First time, we ordered some paneer curry, I don't remember the name. It was good. We ordered it again the second time and it was a completely different thing. The SECOND time, paneer was stuffed and fried, and the FIRST time, it was just plain paneer with... 2 different colours of gravy? It seemed as if they mixed 2 different gravies or curries for the first time. I think it was a little stale too. We ordered a Dal and asked for no coriander or methi and it still had methi, maybe it was pre-made. We had to get it exchanged and it arrived when we were already half done eating our dinner.
For the service, 2nd and 3rd time, we had to wait a lot and ask for the same thing (onion salad, lemon, papad) multiple times before the waiter got them out. They kept forgetting.
In the new place, if you're seated upstairs, you need to come all the way down to wash your hands before eating or to use the restroom. I wish they'd install a sink at the first floor seating too.
For the ambience, it's lovely, homey kind of, and the owner is super nice. Love it here, on of our favourite places to dine out at, but still needs a lot of improvement and consistency in their food, seems to change...
Read more'Amritsari Tadka' is true to its name. It makes you feel the glory of Punjab while in Pune. This place makes sure you leave with the most delighting dining experience ever. The best food is served here with the greatest service. From the time you enter till the time you leave, no need of yours goes unheard. They make adjustments for you, incase you need them. They have a cooperative and amiable staff. The waiting time for food is minimal. Hygiene is very well taken care of. The food is amazingly mesmerizing and tempting. Flavors come alive. Magic and flavor go hand in hand. Leaves you licking your fingertips, be it veg or non-veg. It is well decorated with pretty lights and paitings. Everything you eat here is going to taste unique. Had the best dining experience ever and I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for real food and magic. When you leave, you are sure to describe your journey...
Read moreI have ordered twice food from Amritsari Tadka, once it was a take away about a year back, honestly my experience was bad 😞but I did not put it across. Now after a year I wanted to try it out again thinking that the food must have improved looking after reviews . To my utter disappointment it was a really bad experience again 2nd time. Our order was Paneer butter Masala, Dal Makhani, Naan and Roti. Paneer was I believe very very old as the color changed in the gravy . Dal Makhani which I believe is a relatively easy part to handle was equally handled badly. Overall I am never ever ordering from them again.😌😌 My honest suggestion to the owners , if someone is ordering from your restaurant choosing from an ocean of choices, you have to make sure that the food you send out of your restaurant...
