Hey guys, MUST READ to enjoy the Zoo experience..

*We went there in weekend (Sunday), but by 9.30am we reached there. There is no crowd at all at this time.. So ALWAYS REACH THE ZOO BEFORE 9.30AM ON WEEKENDS..

*For PARKING: bike 40, 2 bikes means 80, but one car is 50 only.. For physically challenged person (any level) FREE PARKING even though they ride on normal vehicle..

*ENTRANCE FEE: Rs.200 for adults. Less than 5 age, FREE.. for 5to12, 50 i think. And FREE for physically challenged persons (any level).

*CHECKING POINT: Plastic covers were not allowed. We have 3 biscuit packets, that was opened and shifted to paper cover by the authorities.. they were all friendly.. but during peak hours do not expect the same friendliness.. they are also human.. Water bottles not allowed. But we told we need for our child. They allowed it then. Inside many water tanks were there. Free of cost. We can fill our bottles if need.

*BOV: BATTERY OPERATED VEHICLE: After entry to the zoo, after some 200ft walk, after the children park place, BOV vehicle ticket counter was there. Most of BOVs were operated by ladies. Rs.150 per person. Free only for age less than 5. After got the ticket, waiting area with seat arrangement for the BOVs available. Since we went earlier, we didn't wait at any counters. We got the 1st vehicle.

*BOV tour: 5 stops & 45 mins only. In that u can cover water dog, Lion, Tiger, Snakes, Elephant, Rhino, Leopards, Salt water Crocodile, Hippo only. Other animals u can see while driving. Some place they will drive slow so we can see animals clearly. Don't miss the water dog(neer nai) near the lion den. Lion difficult to see in good view unless u r lucky. Whereas white tiger steals the eyes. Vehicle stops at Fish aquarium place finally. There we can get down and see fishes and nearby monkeys and birds on the way out.

*Children park: There see-saw, swing, oonjal, etc items were there. PPL aged above 12 were not allowed to use the play ground equipments, even though they were childish, the weight doesn't bear! There was a check person to caught such multiple personalities.

*TTDD RESTAURANT: Tamil Nadu tourism depts restaurant was there. Price is less for the quality and quantity(more). Self serve only. Taste is good. Place is clean. All because we reached earlier, remember.

*Wayout: Time around 12.30pm we came out, lots of crowd entering. Cars were getting redirect to the another place due to full parking. The other parking place which is a kilometre away. From there, zoo pickup vehicle is there. But u will exaust in sun before entering!!!

*NO SAFARI available. It was shut down during corona. Till Sep23, not opened back.

Never throw waste on the road inside. There are lots of dustbins available.

Perfectly designed bamboo elephants 3d at many places..

Cycles and electric cycles were also available on hourly rent basis. Need to deposit a refundable money (200 for normal bicycle and 1000 for battery cycle). Heavy crowd at this place. Child front-carriers for cycles were available, just ask them.

Due to increased entrance price(double), crowd was less compared to previous weekends.. Entrance fee can be bought online also (visit aazp website)

Every TUESDAY, HOLIDAY..

Enjoy!!! Must visit, but without plan, it's a...

Location: Vandalore Zoo is located in Vandalore, easily accessible by bus and train. Transportation: Train is recommended for its affordability, with fares ranging from 5 to 20 rupees per person. Ticket Prices: Children aged 5 to 12 are charged 50 rupees, while those below 5 enter for free. Adults and those over 12 pay 200 rupees. Payment Options: UPI and credit card payments are accepted. Parking: Ample parking space available for bikes and cars. Facilities: Clean restrooms and drinking water stations are provided throughout the zoo. Food Options: Outside food and water allowed, but must be packed in non-plastic containers. Shops inside offer snacks and food items. Wildlife: Diverse collection of animals and bird species, with some animals like deer roaming freely. Rental Options: Rental cycles, electric cycles, and electric cars are available for exploring the zoo. Family-Friendly: Suitable for families, with activities and amenities catering to children and adults alike.

I recently visited Vandalore Zoo with my family, and it was an amazing experience. Located in Vandalore, this zoo is easily accessible by both bus and train, but I recommend taking the train as it's affordable, with fares ranging from just 5 rupees to a maximum of 20 rupees per person. Upon arrival, we found ample parking space for bikes and cars. The ticket prices were reasonable, with children aged 5 to 12 charged 50 rupees, while those below 5 entered for free. Adults and those over 12 had to pay 200 rupees. We appreciated the convenience of being able to pay via UPI or credit card.

Inside the zoo, we were delighted to discover a wide variety of animals and bird species. It truly was a comprehensive collection. We particularly enjoyed seeing some animals, like deer, roaming freely, as it added to the immersive experience. The zoo provided excellent facilities such as clean restrooms and drinking water stations throughout the premises. Additionally, there were plenty of shops offering snacks and food items, with the option to pay using UPI or credit cards.

We were pleased to learn that outside food and water were permitted, provided they were packed in eco-friendly containers. This gesture towards environmental sustainability was commendable. For those interested in exploring the zoo at their own pace, there were rental options available including cycles and electric cars.

Overall, our visit to Vandalore Zoo was a memorable one. We had a fantastic time exploring the diverse wildlife and enjoying the family-friendly amenities. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an enjoyable day out with their loved ones. Every summer season is the best season to...

Arignar Anna zoological park, well known as Vandalur zoo. It was a wonderful visit. Unimaginable area within the city of Chennai. Almost all the animals they kept inside the zoo were well maintained. The park is located at Grand southern trunk road, Vandalur, Chennai.

The zoo is usually closed on Tuesday, Wednesday to Monday the timing is 9 AM to 5 PM. Try to reach as early as possible to avoid waiting for an electric vehicle and safari bus. We visited on the weekend (Saturday), but it was so crowded, I can not imagine the crowd on Sunday. You will need at least 5-6 hrs to comfortably cover all the spots.

The best part is the place is well connected to other places, Just outside the park you will find the bust stop.

The entrance fee is 200rs per person, for kids below 5 years of age there is no entrance fee charged. The entrance is beautiful with a small waterfall. Thin plastic carry bags are not allowed, as people may throw them everywhere and may spoil nature. A good initiative.

A big area for car parking that too is charged 150 Rs. But a safe place where you can park your vehicle for the day and roam without worrying.

There are several restaurants inside, one is at the entrance itself. You will get snacks, tea, coffee, juices, ice creams. Better to carry the lunch with you as you can sit and enjoy the lunch anywhere inside, below the trees, a different kind of experience.

There is a Lion and Deer safari available, which is worth, charges are 150 Rs per person, and kids 50 Rs. For Lion and Deer safari you will be taken through an air-conditioned bus inside the areas where Lions and Deer are kept. It will be for almost 20-25 mins.

The zoo is very big as you will get exhausted while walking, so better to take cycles on rent. There are cycles available on an hourly basis. Or else you can book an electric vehicle, but the disadvantage of this vehicle is you will have to go in a group with other peoples and it will stop as per their convenience and for tickets also there will be big que, so early reaching is very important.

About animals, there are plenty of animals, birds, reptiles , insects etc. A variety of birds, parrots, peacocks, peahens, vultures and animals like monkeys, Giraffe, Zebra, Deer, Elephants, Rhinos, Hippopotamus, Tiger, white tiger, Cheetah, Bengal tiger, Bison, Bear, wild buffaloes, Lion. Reptiles like crocodiles and snakes are also there.A separate aquarium is also there, where a variety of fishes are kept, but the place inside is very dark.

Overall a great place to spend time with your kids and family in the wildlife and enjoy the...
