Manpaanai Chettinadu Virundhu — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

Will give less than one star but google has no such option hence giving one star… Visited the restaurant based on the insta review by foodies_findings on 15/5/2022 Was totally disappointed They showed everthing served in mud vessels in the video but the plates and other cookwares are all in porcelain In the video they have told that they will be giving the guests panagam as welcome drink but when enquired about it the staff said that it will be available on only two days a week and the days are not known to them They highlighted sizzler kothu parotta vanjaram puttu as highlights in the video which were not there in the menu card We ordered egg kothu parotta, kili parotta, plain dosa, and mutton gravy Egg kothu parotta was very salty, regarding the kili parotta it was just normal parotta and salna with an omlette on top wrapped in plantain leaf.. we had tasted kili parotta at many places but this was our worst experience coming to the dosa part we have order two plain dosa which were very cold and dry by the time they serve us Regarding the mutton gravy before ordering we enquired the staff that we need Chettinad type of gravy for which he suggested mutton rogan josh we trusted the staff and placed the order but to our dismay it is a north indian type of gravy with no tinge of Chettinad flavour upon enquiring the staff regarding this he replied its not Chettinad gravy and went off without even waiting for the reply from us.. Very worst staff response… On the whole we were totally disappointed with the food experience we had.. Food vloggers need to stop such false promotions simply because they are getting paid.. Gonna stop following foodies_findings insta account as well as will never again visit the restaurant again...

Nice little hidden gem 💎 of a restaurant that's tucked away in a Residential Hotel SRR Grand in a prime location just opposite to the famous Vandalur Zoological Park 🏞️.

Easy access from both sides of the highway, if you are coming from the Vandalur Zoo, you'll have to make a U turn under the bridge and the restaurant is on the left side on the road to Tambaram within a minute's drive from the Vandalur junction.

Has a dedicated parking 🅿️ space for 10 to 15 cars with security posted.

The premises itself is nice starting from the entrance and access to the building and restaurant having a delightful ambience with bamboo and earthen pot decor and complementing interiors and wood work with a small dine in area that should serve about 40 odd patrons.

Coming to the food, apt to the name, some of the traditional chettinadu delicacies are excellent, especially the Country Chicken recipes, soups, starters, currys, kothu parotta, curries made from fishes you'll mostly only make home.

Not just these, this place has a multi cuisine menu North Indian,Chinese etc and complete with Desserts, Ice-creams, Fresh juices and more and the options are delightful.

The Captain and the Chefs are very accomodative of our spice level needs, so feel free to let them know how you want the food prepared.

It does take a while for the food to be prepared but that's in a way indicative of fresh preparation upon orders than serving precooked food. Just a bit of patience is what you need to eventually taste some nice delicacies and go home with a...

We have visites twice to this restaurant.first time we were with full family' with 8 members. We ordered food but it served only after one hour. We haven't got drinking water too. We have raised concern however they informed that waiters are on leave. Okay we understand we left.

Second time we haven't face any issue on time of serving but the issue was with payment. We paid the bill via dineapp to get 10% offer. It was clearly mentioned in the app that walkin offer. We paid the amount after offer and we have shared the reference id and invoice to the hotel manager. He started to crying and saying that this offer is only available for pre-booking and if we paid through offer the remaining amount will get deducted from his salary. On humanity basis we paid the remaining amount directly to the restaurant account. It was very pathetic. After raining concern with the dineapp service they informed that there is no need to pay the amount but we informed we already paid. If the offers not available then it should not shown in the dineapp which create a great inconvenience. Also the maintenance inside hotel is very bad. We have found small cockroach babies running over the window. Gave the feedback to the manager .

Both issues bringing us to think about that we should not visit this hotel again. But food was tasty but the management is not good. Good management is equally important...
