FabHotel Carnival - Hotel in Newtown, Kolkata — Attraction in West Bengal

I chose this hotel based on online reviews, location and price. Booked 8 rooms for a stop over in Kolkata. Right from the Check In , our experience was not that great. There was a total chaos in the hotel and a big communication gap between the manger and the staff. Rooms were small and lacks cleanliness. The linens and towels were not cleaned. Looked like we were given the used one. The blankets were smelling. After repeated complaints, they replaced the linen and towels in 2-3 rooms.

They literally said no to all our requests for cleaning the rooms. We gave up finally and compromised with what we had.

There were few positive things about the hotel Food- The in house restaurant serves delicious food. They serve home style food (less oil and spices) Out of 8 rooms, they allowed one room for keeping our luggage for late check out by 2 hours High Speed Internet

There are lot of things which they can improve upon The hotel is under staff. The same set of people does all the work in the hotel Cleanliness and hygiene Coordination between Hotel...

All services were good....food and the hospitality Two issues I found...one was that I was constantly receiving msgs to pay a advance amount to FabHotel for confirmation of the room and when I reached Hotel the staff said the advance payment is not required. So it's very difficult to acquire a bill (as we have to do two payments - one to FabHotel and other to The hotel directly)and as we visit for official work...it's difficult to claim the money. No full coordination between the Hotel and FabHotel services..which is not right. The second issue I faced was - Had asked them whether I could stay back for 1-2 hours as my train was in the evng But the staffs immediately asked for more money which I thought could have been avoided If the rooms are not occupied...then they could provide such free service for atleast 1-2 Hrs as this is helpful and some other Hotels do follow such things. This are the things which troubled me the most...rest all services were good Hope that the authorised persons look into this...
