"Don't go to the Ramapuram campus if you're not in the Computer Science or IT branch, as there are no jobs for core branches; students are recruited only for IT companies. The infrastructure is also subpar, and the campus is small. I can't speak for the Computer Science or IT branch, since I was in Mechanical. All I can say about this branch is that, except for 3 or 4 faculty members, others are below average. The faculty members also discriminate against North Indians, even though not all are from the North; some students are from East India and West. They give priority to their local students. I am from the 2023 passout batch. Once, a faculty member in my first year said to me and my friends why don't we learn the Tamil language, and said why we North Indians are forcing them to learn Hindi, which is literally shameful because nobody said anything to them about what language to use; we only use English to communicate. During my 4 years of BTech, 2 years went for the pandemic. We all came back at the end of the 3rd year, and our theoretical classes started again, but they taught us nothing in terms of practical classes. The subjects were there, but either the faculty were only standing and teaching nothing, or there was no faculty at all; it was a free class. In the 3rd year, they asked everyone for a minimum of 3 months internship certificate, which they didn't even inform the students about. After we came back from the pandemic, suddenly they started asking for internship certificates, or else they would give students backlogs for that particular subject. They promised us industry visits, but not once did they take us. In my 4 years at this University, not once did I go to an industry. There were no clubs, and the campus didn't organize events properly. I was in the SAE Baja team in the design department, and the College didn't fund it. I spent 10k on that car, and they were asking for more, so I left the team. I didn't even ask for a refund, and I guess the event didn't even happen. The labs are mediocre, the computers are old Windows XP, there's no football field, only a basketball court. The badminton ground is available; last I saw, they were constructing it, but our batch didn't get to use any of those."
But not everything was bad, I've learnt alot though, met good friends from Tamil Nadu and outside, those 3 or 4 faculties I met were the best faculties,
For 2nd year students I would like to say that there is students exchange program as well. They may or may not inform you about this, but I'll write it here. If any of guys want to go abroad, then definitely...

Read moreI am Vishal S, currently doing B. Tech, Biomedical engineering in SRM Ramapuram. SRM ramapuram is one of the best college located within the city limits. The quality of the food served in the hostel mess and canteen is very good. Labs, classrooms, libraries, hospitals, auditoriums, different sports courts, and competitions in almost every field are provided to the students, and all these facilities are of very good quality. The course curriculum is interesting and informative and it provides an overall view of every topic and also practically helps in improving skills in students. The teachers were helpful, they are well-knowledgeable, and they help the students during the examination and semester period. The campus life here is very good there are all types of fests, technical and non-technical, which makes students grow in both aspects. I like my course, and I have a dream to pursue Biomedical engineering, So, I have chosen it. Placements provided are top-notch, thanks to the existence of placement officers whose sole priority is to make the students ready for the upcoming interviews and placement regarding activities.
