The old man sitting outside the temple he could be the Trustee or President is extremely rude to the pilgrims. He should understand Members like me are part of the temple. Today I went to attend Shri Velukudi Krishnan's upanayasam. This old man was at his worst behaviour. Many senior citizens took plastic chairs which was arranged outside the temple to sit and listen to the discourse. All of a sudden this old man walks in removes chairs of everyone seated including an elderly lady who said she undergone hip surgery. I too had gone thru knee surgery and cannot squat on the floor. Inspite of request he did not oblige and whereas he allowed his known to occupy chairs. I pray Lord Narasimha to remove such evil from his temple precincts. It's a shame that Members are treated in such manner. Everyone present there did not approve the behaviour of this old man who is constantly dictating terms even on normal days. Temple is awesome but this man is the eyesore very very...

The roads are quite narrow, particularly the one leading to the temple. The temple is an ancient one and dates back to the Pallava kings of the 8th century. The Lord of the temple is Lakshmi Narasimha. There is a shrine for Navneeta Krishna where He holds butter in one hand and conch with the other. There are also shrines for Chakrattazhvar, Vishvaksena, Alwars and Vedanta Desikar. Though the road outside is very narrow, inside of the temple is quite spacious. A unique feature of this temple is no tickets need to be bought for darshan or archana. When we visited the temple, we could see a group of vaishanvite pandits and priests reciting the slokas, and perhaps it could be daily feature. Om Lakshmi...
ย ย ย Read moreI used to go to this temple whenever I visited Chennai from N India on vacation. At that time it was only a sculpture under a tree fenced with woodsticks. Then after settling in Nanganallur, I used to go frequently and later, daily with my wife. The temple staff-Archakas and office staff were gradually growing arrogant. Especially the Secretary was always aggressive and snubbing the devitees unneceรsarily. He was always snubbing women devotees in 'goshti'. When he did this to my wife I reacted stubbornly but not dis respectfully. Then I stopped going to this temple. Usually he snubs women because they are more submissive. The arrogant treatment is directly proportional to the increasing income of the temple. This is one place which stands as an example of brahmin hegemony even today. Ramanujacharya's simplicity is totally...
