Karukathamman Temple — Attraction in Zone 8 Anna Nagar

The temple is situated in a small cornet. I was imagining how big this temple would have been long back. This temple is a powerful temple where it is believed that the deity protects the child inside the womb before is is born.

People who have had miscarriages can visit this temple and pray to the Ambal to protect their next baby. In Sanskrit the name of the deity is "Garbharakshambika" and in Tamil the name is "Karukathamaan" Which means protecting the womb.

I'm sure this temple would have been very big with so much space in the past and might have got destroyed in invasion or something. Very powerful temple. Hope the sanctity is well preserved. The government should also take some initiatives to protect temples like these with great history. I'm not even sure if this Temple's history is known or preserved or not. Hopefully it is somewhere.
