For my dadâs birthday in 2025, my husband and I decided to try here for his cake, and they did not disappoint. We ordered a 0.5 kg Eggless Turkish Delight, which was a vanilla sponge layered with pistachio cream and dried rose petals, carrying a lovely gulkhand flavor. The soft jelly toppings were a pleasant surprise. They added a fun texture to the cake.
We ordered directly through their website, and the cake arrived right on time with no compromise in taste or presentation. The only small hiccup was that the website only allows 30 characters for the cake message, regardless of size. When I called to check, the staff explained that 30 characters fit best on a 0.5 kg cake for legibility, which makes sense, but it would be great if the website automatically adjusted the limit for larger cakes. Still, thatâs not a dealbreaker.
The cake itself was soft, rich, and decadent, melting beautifully with every bite. Everyone at home absolutely loved it. They also included three candles and a wooden knife.
We loved the cake so much that we visited their store the next day to try their pastries. I had a Vietnamese macchiato, which was just perfect - strong yet balanced with the right amount of sweetness. We also picked up a butterscotch brownie, gooey chocolate pastry, blueberry muffin, walnut & banana muffin, and a Korean bun. Everything tasted great except for the Korean bun, which was a bit too salty for my liking. We also grabbed a box of pistachio & rose cookies that disappeared within a day, and that says enough!
Overall, the quality, freshness, and presentation were all impressive. Weâll definitely be ordering from Cakewalk again, especially for...
Read moreMy actual rating for this place is 4.5 . Chennai has always had a long history of baking with Smith Field Bakery (1885), Crown Bakery (1905) and the legendary Adyar Bakery (1903) but according to me the true baking revolution came to Chennai in the 1980s and 1990s with a handful of great bake houses introducing the citizens of Chennai to the latest products from European bake houses. One such place is Calk Walk. Their pastries have always indulged by taste buds for the last 35 years or more. I was a regular in their branches in Greams Road and Nungambakkam and Montieth Road in Egmore. Their premier branch in Stirling Road has been in favourite haunt for my sugar cravings since they opened this branch. The place is large and spacious and beautifully designed. The lighting is warm and inviting. The only problem I have with this branch is that they do not have a decent sized parking hence my 4.5 star rating. Kothari Road is adjacent where one can park a little inside. There is a wide choice in their menu for cakes, pastries, salads, sandwiches, rolls, croissants, fudges , truffles and more. The pricing is reasonable and the quality has not only been maintained it has infact improved over the years. It is clear that the management has their eyes and ears open. They are expanding slowly but surely and their expansion to Bangalore is a great step forward. Well done Cake Walk !!!! Definitely would...

Both were ordered through their site for home delivery in Gopalapuram
Horrible cakes, stale... do not go for the good reviews, these are paid reviews, none of them may be true, I wish I had heeded the negative reviews.
Chocolate Truffle
I had called them to complain, it was very crumbly, the chocolate sponge cake didn't taste right... the top chocolate layer was ok.
Didn't get a very positive reply, and also I was not too persistent, it was the first time I was ordering so had to give them the benefit of doubt.
Strawberry Cake
Stale sponge cake, top strawberry layering had a hint of a bitterness, I called them and ask them to replace it, and they said the delivery boy wasn't under their payroll and they couldn't call for him again, but if I brought the cake back they would check what was the problem.
They couldn't see it was their responsibility to immediately dispatch a replacement cake and ensure that their clients occasion is not ruined.
I could see very clearly... if I take the cake back, I will only save the cake but the occasion is already ruined.
Or rather if I chose to write a review, which will not save my cake but will save many a auspicious moments of those who read it.
I did...
