One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had in Chennai. Clearly fooled again by the hype by the influencers on social media.
Where can I start with ? Everything was terribly bad.
Came in at 12.30 pm for lunch, no waiters to take in the order. Waited for more than 10 minutes for someone to attend to us.
We ordered veg meals and a biriyani.
For the veg meals, we were given a plate with the usuals. The plate did feel exciting to look at from a distance. The closer you looked at it, you can see the sambar , rasam and andhra pappu (the star of a typical andhra meals) to be more thinner than the water. The tag line for this place is authentic telugu cuisine which is no where near to what it is serving us. The most basic dish is a vegetarian meal, and how can you go wrong with it. The pappu is just a dal which per se is thick by nature and I'm not sure how they got it to be very watery and the same goes to sambar. Both did not have any good taste. And the rasam was just pepper water. They did not even have a poriyal and when asked about it they said it's the potato chips. The server a poli that did not even have a sufficient filling. A cup jeera rice that had no salt. Only thing that was eatable was the chutney and a gravy they provided for it. Buttermilk was a disaster that had chilli powder sprayed on curd water. Payasam was just milk water with semiya.
And the HIGHLIGHT OF THIS MEALS IS THE PRICING WHICH WAS AT 600RS FOR A VEGETARIAN MEAL. I'm not going to complain about that it was highly priced, but if you pricing it high, it is the restaurant's responsibility to provide high quality food. How can you compromise on the ingredients used in the meal when you are charging us that much.
Natukodi Biriyani was also a let down making me look stupid and question my life choices after coming tonthis restuarant. It was just some blandly flavoured basmati rice with frozen natukodi chicken semi dry. You can feel the frozen taste of the chicken that is just not going well with the masala. We were not even served with curry and raitha. Even after asking for it, I was served after entire 15 mins and repeated requests. And the waiter was like "wait wait it's coming". Again 600rs for this disaster.
The service was bad. There was just one waiter who handling the entire service taking in the orders and serving us. Another person was giving a mediocre helping hand. After we were given the meal plate, no one asked us if we needed rice. We had to ask for it and wait for it again.
There was just not even one thing I could say positive about. 100rs for the service charge as well. This is just a big day time loot. I would not suggest this to anybody.
Meal at any budget hotel would have been 100x better.
WORST EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!!! CAN'T EVEN SERVE A BASIC...
Read moreFood wise it's very very average, expected a total different experience but this restaurant didn't even reach half of that. Since this restaurant is open in telugu states,They should obviously know about kritunga, rayalaseema ruchulu, Minerva blue fox, southern spice, dwaraka, ulavacharu, Kuchipudi and to name there are so many list goes on.. atleast atleast try to implement that kind of food here the true authentic andhra cooking with spices and aroma, I'm not telling the above mentioned restaurants are best but they are better compared to vivaha bhojanam, in chennai amaravathi is best.., there's a lot of demand here and if u ppl provide atleast somewhere closer to the authentic taste and flavour be sure ur restaurant will be a huge huge success. In chennai as of now amaravathi restaurant is doing best. And huge crowds queue outside as it's known to all living in chennai. Plz change the chef/cook whoever is appointed. Andhra cuisine doesn't mean just adding heavy chilli powder for starters or too much spices for pulav, an authentic andhra chef if appointed only then this place can be successful if not it's very tough. Make it hot and spicy, hope the proper chef understands make it hot using different spices like clove, black pepper, chillies etc., etc., not just sprinkling red chilli powder all over. And pulav please serve authentic pulav with taste and aroma and right amount of spices. If not don't serve pulav at all. Instead change the label from pulav to biriyani and serve some pan fried biriyani or whatever. Overall this place is very average in terms of food. If anybody expecting high will be disappointed. Many ppl wanted to take advantage of the demand for andhra food in chennai and n number of restaurants mushroomed all over the city but everybody failed and couldn't sustain the only reason behind that is not able to provide the authentic dishes or maybe because of a wrong chef, only one restaurant going strong is amaravathi. We are wanting expecting many more restaurants to pop up all over but with authenticity, we don't mind spending high if the place provides the best. First of all when you give a authentic telugu name to the restaurant make all your customers get that feel by employing local ppl with local attire like South Indian dress and the way they speak and many more to be taken care off regarding grooming etc., bringing some hindi ppl and who don't understand anything and employing a northeast hostess all this makes this place look a d feel like a very normal and one in thousand type. To get a better knowledge check out southern spice in taj coromandel and dakshin in crown plaza previously known as park sheraton. Improve...
