We had the most amazing time at Iboih Inn on Pulauh Weh! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such warmth and kindness by the hostess, who also happened to be funny and made us feel right at home. The tranquil vibe of the place immediately put us at ease, and we knew we were in for a fantastic vacation.
The sea in front of the hotel was like an enchanting aquarium, and we couldn't get enough of the mesmerizing underwater world. The location was pure paradise, and we spent our days exploring the beautiful surroundings and engaging in various activities organized by the inn (dolphin and snorkeltour, renting gear, diving).
The husband was incredibly helpful and calm, always ready to assist us with anything we needed, making our stay even more enjoyable. Despite the few stairs to reach some rooms, the breathtaking views made it all worthwhile.
The food served at the inn was not only delicious but also gave us a taste of the local flavors. Every meal felt like a special treat. We appreciated the thoughtful efforts of the family to make us feel comfortable throughout our stay.
Sure, the WiFi might have been a bit unstable, and the bathrooms were on the smaller side, but those minor inconveniences faded away in the face of such wonderful hospitality and the serenity of the surroundings.
In conclusion, we highly recommend Iboih Inn for an unforgettable vacation. The combination of a homey atmosphere, the kind and funny hostess, and the helpful and calm husband, along with the picturesque seafront and plenty of activities, made our experience truly memorable. We left happy and fat and can't...
Read moreThe Inn is nicely located on a hillside, overlooking a bay. Wonderful scenery. The rooms are clean, good bed, fine bathroom. There is a nice deck in front of the room to sit and watch the sea.
The Inn is not a polished as the resorts in Bali. It has an intimate local feel. Good for travellers who want to see more of the authentic Indonesia.
The owners and staff are wonderful and will try to help you with anything. Very caring.
The house reef is nice, but do not expect a 'Raja Ampat'. But still plenty to enjoy. The Inn also arranges diving and snorkeling options. Just ask them. [Update]... we went on a snorkeling trip and saw some amazing reefs and steep undersea walls packed with fish. Some sites do require swimming skills, but definitely great places to see sealife.
Regarding the food: they offer a nice range of Indonesian and Western dishes, but do not expect a 24/7 restaurant. You have to ask the staff and they will arrange something.
The island of Pulau Weh (often referred to as Sabang Island, after the modest capital), is a quiet, nice island close to Thailand and Malaysia. Often regarded as 'off the beaten track'. Actually, this island fits well in a South East Asia itinerary as you can fly directly to Kuala Lumpur from Banda Aceh, the nearby capital. No need to take a 3 hour flight back to Jakarta before going to other countries.
All in all, Iboih Inn is a nice place to stay, wonderful views, relaxed and ideal for travellers who want to see more of Indonesia than the crowded...
Read moreA pleasant stay - Liza is the star of the stay!
Pros - Beautiful location with a restaurant overlooking a jetty and the crystal clear waters (which you can snorkel from!!) Most rooms have a great view out into the sea, note that some of the higher rooms do have a blocked view though. The owner Liza is funny, super friendly, and helpful. We loved chatting every day, and she helped us book various experiences and onward travel. The location is OK, at the end of the strip of accommodation and restaurants. The walk to the restaurants is short but a lot of up and down (as is Sebang in general). The beds were comfy, with a mosquito net provided. AC was good Shower was ok but we were lucky to both get a hot one Breakfast every morning was delicious, and different each day. If you're not too fussy then there will definitely be something for you. There is always cute cats hanging around, Brocoli was our favourite Bike rental was convenient, priced well, and the bike was decent
Cons- No WiFi in our room, only in the restaurant. This was quite annoying as it meant we couldn't chill in the aircon whilst we had some downtime. I would say the rooms are slightly overpriced. They are better than most on the island, but not quite worth the full price imo. You have to order the day before to get food in their restaurant. Whilst I do understand why, Liza is a great cook and the other restaurants aren't that good, so there is a big gap for a decent...
