This place was a nightmare. My bungalow was absolutely filthy and in disrepair and didn't match the photos or how happy guests described their experience online. The front wall didn't even go to the ceiling so my bungalow was FILLED with bugs, spiders, dirt, and even lizards. I originally booked this for 8 nights but refused to stay more than one night. I felt dirty staying here, a tent would have been better and cleaner because I felt like I was sleeping outside. The owners don't seem to care either about making guests wait or inconveniencing them. It was common for them to forget my food orders while they just hungout. Even when their restaurant was busy they just eat in the kitchen, relax and joke. No sense of urgency and no respect for customer's time or needs. It was especially frustrating having traveled all day and arriving at 8 pm to find out my bungalow wasn't ready and they don't have any soap in the bungalows so I had to walk all the way back into town (this is a 15 minutes hike from where taxis drop you) to buy soap so I could shower. To top it off they dishonestly reported to booking that I didn't show up for my reservation. I could write more but having stayed in hundreds of different places over the years this was by far one of the worst. Do not stay here, they do not deserve your hard earned money. Take my advise, avoid Olala...
Read moreThis is the first worst bungalow I've book and I'll never book it again. No Facility in room like doormat, bathroom mat, even 1 towel they don't have it. They lying about AC. Agoda write it have AC but the real is no. They just have a fan even a broken fan and rusted. The head Shower also broken like a cobra when using that lol. I book a family room. and they don't have any facility inside the room. Imagine you book family room but you don't have AC, drink water, towel, etc. That is stupid. Olala Bungalow is not recommended for Indonesian people. But if you are a traveler from europe, ausie, US, etc or not Asian and like hot. You can book it because their staff so friendly. I don't know if the staff friendly with other or not. This review is just my asume. FYI. if you want a cup of hot water for make a noodles. You must pay it for 3000 rupiah. because you don't have a hot water pot in your room. Thanks Olala for the worst experience you give to me.
We talked about the place. It's not easy to reach Olala when raining. You can't reach by car or motorcycle. Because near there is still a lot of mud, gravel and slippery when rained. And The view, It's so beautiful place and so peaceful. Garden view...
Read moreBeautiful island ♥ I contacted the owner after booking saying I was a solo female traveler asking for advice on reaching the village from the ferry, we lost contact because a problem with my phone but she sent a tuktuk to come to the harbor for both boats coming in that afternoon anyway - very kind gesture.||||Accommodation is a simple wooden bedroom with a balcony, hammock and own bathroom with cold shower which is normal here. I stayed here for one week, and could've spent many more here, love the calmness and bright blue water.||||The island is green and beautiful, I stayed in a room with garden view, felt so completely relaxed. You are surrounded by nature and wildlife, don't be surprised by geckos on the balcony or bedroom or ants coming under the door.||||Food is a slow coming out sometimes because everything is cooked and prepared from scratch but you know it is fresh. Prices at all the restaurants are more than mainland but it is an island and best to support sustainable tourism like this.||||Be respectful in how you dress, eg no bikinis and short clothes, this is conservative Aceh, the village call to prayer is beautiful and a welcome early...
