Great for a family. 4 50+ and two 15 year olds. Thoroughly enjoyed the day. Driver and guide were ready for us before we arrived to the lobby. Comfortable car for the 1.5 hour drive to the north. Stopped for view of rice paddies and stretch and bathroom break. Then on to an established location showing the coffee process with tasting of 10 different coffees and teas. Interesting process. Another 30 minute drive up to tip of crater for snack or lunch and stunning views of the new anak (child) volcano inside the massive crater. After that 15 minute drive to pick up our bikes. Helmets provided and they had large selection to choose from. They adjusted each bike to our size. The trip was mostly down hill. I used my brakes more than my peddles. Great scenic routes on small roads and trails. Not overly difficult but a couple of spots where some chose to walk a bit as trail was close to edge of rice paddies Tour of local house was interesting and informative, as was our guide. This would be one of our two highlights from our week long trip to Bali (the other surfing). Some stunning views and so nice to get away from the tourists of the south. Partway through trip we were offered choice of two different paths (easier shorter or slightly more up and down and an extra 30 minutes). We chose the longer option. It ends with a nice meal (late lunch or early supper) at house of the owner of the company. Meal was great. Also I had forgotten my wallet at the first restaurant. Discovered 15 minutes later when we were selecting our bikes. Our driver went back and.picked up so we could start cycling. Very honest. Our group of 4 had a lead guide and a rear guide. As I stopped frequently for photos I was grateful for our rear guide as I lost sight of my family numerous times and would have made...
Read moreI was searching for a cycling trip that covered a variety of activities besides cycling, and I am glad that I found love Bali bike tour... I was delighted to meet my guide, Nyoman, who greeted us with so much love n kindness.. His first sentence is thanks for choosing to bike with my small local company - no stress, stay safe n I would like to make this trip a relaxing n good one.. Take your time.. We started the trip at a nice coffee plantation kumulilir which is different from the previous one I went.. this garden is much bigger n one can take many beautiful photos with the help of Nyoman.. Next, we visited teagallalang paddy view for the view followed by breakfast at Gunung Sari facing the view of Mt Batur n Mt agung. Once we are well fed, our cycling trips started.. Great bikes with good helmet n Nyoman gives us detailed instructions of how to cycle n most importantly what to do to keep ourselves safe.. We passed by local villages where Nyoman gave detailed explanation of Ubud , their lives n rituals.. We have the opportunity to visit one kampong where we see the way they live. Our cycling trip was awesome, covering beautiful n scenic paddy fields. We ended with a yummy n delicious Indonesian lunch, and to our surprise, we have the privilege to dine at Nyoman's home n we had the owner of company as our guide.. Besides, as we are keen to try Bali durian, Nyoman arranged with family members to buy one for us to try after our trip. Nyoman is kind , patient, knowledgeable and I would srongly recommend "Love Bali Bike tour". Thanks Nyoman for giving us more than what the...
Read moreWhat an adventure! Starts with a delicious breakfast, choice for us was fried banana, banana pancake or fried rice with tea or coffee. This was the best way to see the real Bali with the perfect mix of adventure mountain bike riding, beautiful scenery, local info and plenty of laughs. Love Bali bike tours is a local Balinese family run company which is perfect as I definitely like to support the local businesses.
Not all downhill (minimal uphill but so steep you may need to walk for 2 min) but if you have no balance issues and can ride a bike comfortably this is the perfect bike tour. We had 8 family members in our group and 6 were between 60-72 years old for reference.
The actual tour runs through a mix of local towns, jungle and rice fields. You stop in on a temple, locals house and heaps of great views. Our guide Kadek was informative and cheeky supported by the owner/guide and bike maintenance Nyoman, both combined, made for a smooth ride. Ends in the most delicious Balinese lunch. (Possibly the best meal I’ve had so far in Bali)! I...
