Avalokitesvara Statue — Attraction in City of Pematang Siantar

The name of the temple is Vihara Avalokitesvara. The name Avalokitesvara itself has various meanings and translated as Guan Shi Yin Phu Sa / Kwan Im, as a big statue of the goddess is there as the icon.

This is a worship place for Buddhism, Taoism and Confusianism... Not really a tourist area. When you entered the main gate, the statue is on the left hand side whilst most of the religious ritual is at the right side., included a columbarium, where the ashes of ancestors is kept.

It is truly a remarkable statue that can be admired even from a distance. However, it is regrettable that access to the statue has been restricted since the COVID pandemic, limiting visitors to viewing it from afar. The area is open and receives ample sunlight, so it is advisable to be prepared for sunny conditions during daytime visits.

Kemegahan Patung Dewi Kwan Im juga terbuat dari bebatuan yang dipahat yang membuatnya semakin eksotik dan layak dilihat dari dekat untuk membuktikan keindahan pahatannya.

Karena kemegahan dan tinggi patung tersebut, MURI (Museum Rekor Indonesia) menobatkannya sebagai patung Dewi Kwan Im yang tertinggi di Asia Tenggara pada tahun 2008.

Lokasinya ada di pusat kota pematang siantar tempatnya sendiri sangat luas, tentram dan bersih banget. banyak patung patung lain disini yang dipajang dengan maknanya masing masing ada juga patung 12 shio yang berjejer rapi sesuai dengan urutannya selain patung dewi kwan im yang sebagai iconnya.
