Como Park — Attraction in Jakarta

Como Park is / was very nice. When we come early in the mornings, there is always some staff cleaning up the park and sweeping up leaves and trash. There are some nice restaurants surrounding the park, and there are plenty of trash cans where you can discard your pet's waste. Lately the park has shown some wear, and the grass is all pulled up and the benches are broken.

Unfortunately the reason is because a lot of the people who come to Como Park are not as nice. They don't clean up after their dogs, and they bring aggressive dogs into the park off-leash. Some people, perhaps breeders, bring about 5 or 6 of the same breed of dog, and all of them are poorly trained and mildly aggressive.

I don't think a lot of those customers are buying anything at the shops either, so I think they shouldn't be able to use the fenced in facility.

Overall we really enjoy coming here, but we have cut back a lot because people can't manage their dogs...

For the uninitiated, como Park is basically a modern hangout place built encircling a square plot of dog park. The place is situated in the middle of Kemang, so the merchants and the place is hip and nice to hangout in. There's a decent selection of cafe and/or coffee spot for the caffeine hungry. Best of all, the park is well shaded and completely free to play in. Just mind your own dog's business (if you know what I mean). During my visit the people are all friendly and so are the dogs. Would visit again definitely, especially if it it weren't so far from my home. If you are a dog lover or a dog owner, highly recommended place to experience. If you or your family member are scared of dogs... Maybe reconsider your choice as you might be uncomfortable and so are the other guests from...

RIPPED OFF PARKING CHARGES

I’m a regular customer to Como Park normally to bring my dog and to get coffee. Recently they increased the parking fee to Rp10,000 and they implemented a “Valet” service. Como park is not that big with not many shops (i.e. not a shopping mall) and has a lot of parking space. It’s so easy to find a parking there. They get crowded sometimes but not always so I dont see the point of “Valet” service here. As I dont stay too long in this place (15 mins to half an hour) and now I have to pay with the new parking fee with no improvement to the service I feel the management trying to make a “parking business” out of this place.
