I've visited this place on 2016 and 2 days ago, i went there again for the second time. It's still the same, they just added some renovation especially at the back side (from the big bridge up to the walking trail & benches). If you're afraid to go because of COVID-19, don't worry because it wasn't crowded at all even though i came on Saturday and everyone was using their mask properly.
Opening hours is 8 AM - 4 PM and the entrance fee for weekend is 35k each, with a parking fee of 10k. If you bring a gopro/action camera, it will get additional charge for 150k, DSLR for 300k and for professional 1.500k. When you go inside, you'll see caged monkeys, resorts and campgrounds, birdwatching trails along the lush greenery & swamps, some hammocks for relax, a canteen, some food trucks and a cafe that can be accessed via birdwatching trails.
You can also rent a paddle-boat/machine boat for 100k per boat. It's actually good to explore the place with paddle-boat, because you can see what most people can't from land, but the price is too high so i think it's not worth it for people who just want to find a getaway from the bustling city.
Visitors usually just take a stroll along the huge mangrove forests, find a picturesque spot for photos, and relax in the nature. You'll find some birds, monitor lizards and school of fishes in the water as well as the other wildlife. I could say that the place is perfect to take a break and i feel grateful that Jakarta still has this nature reserve.
I give 4 stars because the entrance fee that is overpriced with not many attractions inside and the cleanliness was still minimal.

Read morelooks like abandoned place. Food court is not open ( only small one open, but the main / big one is not ) This place is neglected. Sure they're doing some renovation when we came here yesterday, but if you're not having adequate attraction/ not in proper condition to open, then DON'T open. Lot of trash in the swamp ( yes, i know this is because the visitors, but this is literally LOTS of trash while when we came here, there is only 6 visitors at that time including our group), there's even oil on some part on the swamp some area is closed ( i don't know whether due to covid19 or what ) lots of big fire ants in handrail of bridge, on some bamboo stairs. I know in swamps area bugs & insect is unavoidable, but in some place ( like handrail of a bridge, where you are supposed to grab it for your security ) it should be maintained well to ensure safety & comfortability of visitor What in the map put as "Pulau Rusa" ( Deer Island ) turned out only a small area with 3 poor, dirty, unattended deer inside a cage . Really it isn't an island, but a small area which you need to use a suspension bridge to access it. Bird watchtower has some stairs that broken. I don't know about the safety of it. Only managed to see one white bird flying across the swamp. Is there any special time to watch it ? or do they have lots of variety birds flying around the area ?
I don't know why it got amazing review on blog / other reviewer, but i'm not satisfied with the condition...
Read moreAfter reading others' reviews about trash and few animals, I was surprised to find otherwise. Trash is spotted in a few place, but it's quite normal for a natural walk even overseas in developed countries.
Hv to take the boat ride to taste the serene, quiet feel of the forest, and to spot the birds and lizards. We took the rowing boat for 100k, and we hired some employee (who wasn't on his shift) to row for us. We went during the full moon (air pasang) so there was much water for the boat.
The trail wasnt too long. The playground was simple but in good condition. We went on weekdays (school holiday) and there wasnt many people. I brought my toddler too, and definitely some bridges were quite scary for me to bring my toddler, but the trail was nice.
The weather was nice and sunny, definitely wear your sunscreen. When I was there, i didnt find any mosquitoes at all (some reviews mentioned so much mosquito). We were there for just 2 hours, but my lil kids liked our trip.
Ticket was 25k per adult (local resident price), my lil kids went thru for free. Car parking 10k. Inside they sell drinks for 10k per bottle, standard for attraction sites....
