Ciater hotspring is one of major tourist spot in West Java, and deserve better treatment than this. We visited here on long weekend, and were greated by dozens of locals promoting villas nearby. There was a long trafdic jam to entering parking area. We were told to pay 30.000 for car, 15.000 for EDC parking card deposit, and 40.000 for each person to entering hotspring CARPARKING area. Me and my wife spent 125.000 only to entering parking area. On the front locket, we were told to pay additional 40.000 each person to entering hotspring PARK area. It means you can use park facilities (mostly playground for kids) but you have to pay another 40.000 - 55.000 each person again for using hotspring POOL and PRIVATE BATH ROOM. Don't forget that Food & service inside touristy area is much more expensive than outside. Wew, what a hefty price for taking bath using natural hotspring water! We canceled our visit, and took walk at parking area instead. Parking area is very large, but occupied by hundreds of local vendors selling food, merchandise, and everything between. It was very crowded and very dirty, and asphalt has been broken without proper maintenance.
Ciater hotspring is managed by Sari Ater, together with Sari Ater Hotel next to it. If you stayed at Sari Ater hotel you can enjoy all of facilities (Sari Ater Hotel is pricier than other hotels, but still acceptable considering the facilities) but if you visit Ciater natural hotspring park, you have to paying big money for outdated and very crowded facilities inside. Alternatively you can rent villas nearby, but almost all of hotspring water is being pumped to Sari Ater Hotel & Ciater, so you can only enjoy fraction of hot water available there. We aware that maintaining a touristy spot is very expensive, but I think Sari Ater should improve ticketing system to make us feels not being ripped off, and improve maintenance of facilities. Parking area was very dirty by trash scattered by local vendors, please teach them hygiene.

We went there in the morning and got to the actual place at noon because of the traffic. It was on the weekend, so there were a lot of people came. Although there were a lot of people, the place still cozy and clean. It was raining when we get there, so the first thing we did once we get there was unpacking our bag and rested a little bit.
After the rain stopped, we went to the swimming pool. The swimming pool was empty because it is already 9 PM. We spent about 3 hours at the swimming pool. Then we went back to our hotel room and went to bed. In the morning we had our breakfast in a restaurant nearby it was great and the place surrounded by beautiful scenery. Then we went back to the hotel. After we rested for a while, we took another swim. After that, we packed our bag and headed home. Overall it was a...
