Manado Town Square — Attraction in Manado

Different Building, Different Ambience and Comfort

Manado Town Square location close to hotel where I stay, so during vacation almost every day went to Manado Town Square for dinner and went to Hypermart to buy mineral water. Having large space mean have a lot of choice to select suitable restaurant for my parent.

Initially Manado Town Square wasn't large like in present day. Success on Manado Town Square 1 lead the management to expand building size and increasing amount of tenant, including more upmarket tenant at Manado Square 3 (note that Manado Town Square 3 currently is the only upper intermediate shopping mall at Manado). Most upper intermediate brand that commonly appear at most shopping mall in Jakarta open their first Manado branch at here. Example such Mothercare, ELC, Miniso, Pepper Lunch, Starbucks, Marugame Udon and Centro.

Because of expansion in later, different building design style distinguished with varying degree ambience. At Manado Town Square 1 and 2, ambience feels like at lower middle class shopping mall (closer to 'trade center' style shopping mall), but at Manado Town Square feels like at upper intermediate class mall. Things that noticeable are choice of paint color, floor material and lamp type.

Visiting Manado Town Square 1 and 2 less comfortable because small corridor. In addition of small corridor, situation worsen by some corridor have center area filled with booth. Feels like visiting traditional market. In contrast, Manado Town Square 3 has spacious corridor but not as crowded as...

Popular place to hang out in Manado with various shops, restaurants, cinemas, cafes, banks, and amusement centers. I like to bring my handicapped mother here because the main lobby is easy to be accessed with wheelchair. It also has a travelator which is very helpful for wheelchaired visitors. The toilets are relatively clean and can be used by handicapped persons. However, last year I complained the manager about the behaviour of the mall's security officer. When I was trying to park my car near the lobby's curb, he impolitely told me to move my car to avoid touching the curb. I explained him that I have to park my car as close as possible to the curb because I have to lift my handicapped mother out of the car to her wheelchair. But, he still defend his opinion to guard the spotlessness of the curb without even care to assist me moving my mother to the wheelchair.
