It is quite surprising to find a cathedral in a town of 10000 souls, particularly when you come from a town with 10 times more citizens and no cathedral. Everything was odd for me here, starting with the name of Saint whose church I have never encountered on my travels around Ireland, to remains of a wall next to the church with no data about. Read moreBeautiful Cathedral, built in the 19th century. An adoration chapel is hidden away and accessed to the back of the building. Though it is a large structure, the heating system manages to heat the building to a certain level of warmth, year round. Certainly a building to be admired, given its architecture, beautiful stained glass windows and mosaics. The detailed tiling that is found throughout the cathedral is indicative of the craftsmen attention to detail, during the cathedrals early years.
