The Everest — Restaurant in County Mayo

We needed four meals to takeaway, two of which had to be vegan and one vegetarian. There was no issue ordering vegan versions. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The sauces were delicious, the vegetables beautifully al dente, the meat tender and flavoursome, and spicy was just the right amount of spicy. The rice was not sticky, not too dry. The re-usable containers are great and will be used again, and again. The price was very reasonable (ca €50 for 4 mains). Had a lovely meal Friday night in The Everest Ballina. Got home and next day discovered I had lost a large sum of cash in an envelope. We went back on Saturday just to enquire, as i might have dropped it by mistake. To our surprise the owner came out and said I had left it on the table and was trying his best to locate us, he then handed it back to me. Wow, I was blown away and feel it so important that when people do this kind of thing with such honesty and integrity they should be recognised So thanks to you Everest Ballina we liked your food before but will definitely be back to eat with you guys again....

Wont be back. The food was ok but I waited over an hour for my main course . This place seems to do a thriving take away business and for the hour that I waited it was like a motorway from the kitchen to the take away section. I felt like ordering a take away while I waited. The toilet area was grubby as the photo shows. The toilet is situated in the hallway where people wait to collect their take away so there is not much privacy.I can only hope the kitchen is kept better. On paying for my meal I was not thanked or asked how was the meal. Alot of improvement ...
