The Little Museum of Dublin is essentially a city museum focused on the city of Dublin. There are three floors to the museum and contains an eclectic mix of exhibits related to things related to Dublin. The ground floor covers aviation (not exactly sure why). The second floor covers an exhibition of the newspaper "The Irish Times", famous musicians from Dublin (mostly it's about U2) and a nine Mayor of Dublin Alfie Byrne. There's a chance to "shake the hand of Alfie" in reference to his closeness to the people of Dublin. The first floor consists of two rooms which were part of the guided tour. One covered (like much of Dublin) the various uprisings against British rule and the cover paraphernalia for each decade of the 1900s. You can even play will some of the exhibits like a grip strength tester.

Included in the price of the ticket is a chance to join a guided tour of the museum, every hour on the hour. I joined one give by a Dubliner, caled Mark, who gave an interesting account of the history of Dublin in one hour, a little bit about the house where the museum stands, a lot about the history of Dublin and a lot about the 1900s.

I wouldn't call it the best museum of Dublin, that accolade goes to the National Museum, but it's...

Absolutely brilliant! We spent just over 2 hours enjoying the museum. There is SO much to learn, and our tour guide Ciarăn was so knowledgeable and so passionate - we were hooked straight away because he engaged us so well. He was funny, welcoming and friendly.

There is a lot to see - you could totally do it within 45-60 minutes, or you can stop and look at all that is on offer and listen to the stories. It really is jam packed!

Louise was also utterly fabulous, so friendly funny interesting AND interested in guests/visitors.

After we had left, my Dad's words were "I've met two really lovely people today!" (Ciaran and Louise)

I definitely recommend visiting TLMoD and getting the most out of it. It gives you such a good background of knowledge to this city, and you can appreciate everything so much more! The books in the gift shop are really reasonably priced, and worth investing in, if you're wanting to enhance your Irish knowledge!

Huge thanks to Ciaran, Louise and Orlane (I really hope I've got all your names right!) You made our visit so enjoyable and made a brilliant...

The Little Museum of Dublin is so worth a visit! Our guide in the museum was Saul. He was engaging and very informative. (Also does a mean Irish jig!) We chose the "Ultimate Experience" (recommended): one hour in the museum followed by one hour on a guided tour of St. Stephen's Green. Our guide, Lisa, for the outdoor portion was also wonderful. I learned so much today, laughed (and cried, tbh), and have a far better understanding of Dublin, Ireland's independence, the women who fought for Ireland's independence, the tragedy of the potato "famine" and the Magdalena Laundries, and why/how Ireland became "The Republic of Ireland" and "Northern Ireland." I also appreciated Sean (staff member) taking time to talk to me about the country's history. I had a few complicated questions, and he patiently explained the nuance of his homeland's history. (Also, the gift shop at The Little Museum is a terrific place for souvenirs. Highly recommend.) For anyone with mobility issues, it is a completely...
