We love this beach and have been coming here for walks for years. The beach is mostly safe but does have dangerous currents in places which are marked on information signs at the entrance. The beach did claim the life of a 14 year old in 2022 and locals warn of the dangers of swimming there. Personally we find it ok as long as you keep close to the shore line. There is plenty of information regarding the danger areas at the beach. Also during the summer months the beach is lifeguarded, we’ve even seen them patrol the beach in kayaks from the water.

On your average day during the year this beach will be quiet and there is plenty of parking along Burrow/Claremont roads. It’s popular with dog walkers and swimmers and if the wind is up and weather right the beach can even attract many kite surfing heads too. We have witnessed some Compass Jellyfish on the beach known to give a painful sting so bear that in mind. Unfortunately the good weather brings massive crowds too. Plenty of loud music, drinking and fighting reported during the 2023 summer with good weather spells. The close proximity of the beach to the Sutton Dart stating makes access very easy and convenient.

The walks are great and when the tide is out you can walk right out and even get close to Howth harbour. Borrow really is one of Dublin’s little gems, it’s very clean and very peaceful well mostly. I recommend checking the tide times before...

Lovely sandy beach and lovely water. We spotted a jelly fish and so did some other people. We visited this beach on one of the hottest days of the summer. We arrived at about 11.45am and left at about 3.30pm. There was a very different vibe on the beach when we were leaving compared to when we arrived. Lots of young people arriving in droves, playing loud music. We saw four guards patrolling the beach and confiscating alcohol. We saw a number of people drinking. I'm glad we left...

Had an incredible day at Burrow Beach with my wife – the perfect spot for a relaxing escape. 10-15 minutes walk from Sutton Dart station and as expected the beach was packed with sun in its full flow reaching 29 degrees and people going mad about it. The views were stunning, the atmosphere was crazy, and the beach was super crowded still clean and well-kept. It was the kind of place where time slows down, and you can truly unwind. An awesome experience overall – we’ll...

One of the best beach in Dublin. It is a soft white sand beach. You will find it crowded on summer weekends. Best time to visit is during the hide tide period. Best beach for family weekend day along with kids. There are couple of public washrooms and parking for cycles available at the entrance There is also a walkway to walk towards Howth station. There is limited parking space beside the road. But you can park the vehicle at Sutton station and walk towards the beach.
