Golden Elephant Asian Restaurant — Restaurant in Fingal

We chose this place because it was open on a Monday. We are from the US and I have a gluten allergy and am vegetarian. Having Thai food on the menu suggested to me that I would be able to find gluten free and vegetarian options. That's been my experience at home. I hate to write a bad review on anything - But this is not a place for anyone with a gluten allergy. And it is not a place for anyone who likes good service. There were no veg/GF Thai options! I was given steamed vegetables with just cornstarch and water. I had to get quite assertive, insisting like 4 times! to get some sweet & sour sauce just to add a little flavor and they charged me for it! We also had about 5 different people come to our table at various times - no consistent server. And all seemed to think we were from Mars or something. After that, no servers even came back to our table! Luckily they did have tofu to add to the vegetables, but it was not on the regular menu. It was on the GF menu - when I ordered it, the staff at first refused to take the order! I've never had such a horrible...

I absolutely LOVE this restaurant and I cannot fault it in any way. I have been going to this restaurant for years for casual evenings and also on more formal occasions. The interior is very oriental and traditional which adds to lovely authentic feel and atmosphere of the place. The staff are always extremely friendly and very welcoming. Apart from this, the food is delicious and have never had a bad experience at this restaurant I am so surprised it is not more well known. We like Chinese food a lot , but at this restaurant was worst experience ever . The food was no tast at all , on a noodles with seafood looks like boiled water was topped on the top was was terrible taste, chicken was plane no tast at all just topped with sweet and sour it help a small bit , soup was ok. After all that bad experience we didn’t sleep at the night our stomach stopped working and we didn’t eat even half off portion . Eat a small beat because we been hungry.
