On health and safety grounds allone this place should be reviewed. If this place was plassed, ad l was told the inspector was either blind or conned. 90% of the lights for the footpath were not on!!!! We had to use our phones to see where we were going!!?? I reported this matter and was told the light above the footpath was emergency lights only!!??? Well l think it's an emergency if you can't see where you are going!!! There were plenty of emergency lights on at the eateries and the car park!!!
There were steps and only four of the six steps leading to a frozen lighted pond, had light upon them. If l fell at anytime l would of sued!!!
The lights were OK, not worth what we paid for them!! Spaced out and once again insufficient for the price. Don't waste your money coming here.
There were stewards there however only one had a flash light( in the car park) others who were on their own were too busy on their phones to look up!!??? Others congerated in groups talking, uninterested in the people unless spoken to. Instead of having flash lights and positioned on the route with walkie talkies engaging the people!!
No visible First aiders( Order of malta/red cross) visible on route!!! At least they would have had flash lights and engaged with the public instead of looking bored and uninterested in their surroundings!!!
The the price we paid we could even have an inside meal but subjected to sitting on hard wooden chairs in the open air!! No excuses that avoca closes at six is acceptable!! They should have stayed open for the event and paid to do so.
With the expensive tickets didn't even include the admission to the castle!!??? No excuses please.
I would not recommend this venue and would recommend Dublin Castle lights and markets. This was free and we actually went into the castle too. Marley park also has events that are 109% better than this. Well lit and with first aiders visible and who interact...

Read moreMyself and my partner come here almost everyday to walk our dogs. With the large sprawl of the gardens and fields and walkways there's a lot to explore apart from the castle itself and cafe etc.
They have an off lead dog area and it makes us feel a lot calmer to walk our dogs alongside dog owners who won't tell us to put our dogs on a lead.
While there's never any cause for concern, our dogs are tall (lurchers) and a lot of dog owners get uncomfortable, even if their own dogs are off lead. So highly reccomend if your dog is alright being off lead i.e. not aggressive and trained and you get the same flack rest assured you won't get it in the off lead zone.
Also, beautiful gardens and such ar certain times of the year, place to exercise and to...
