Over COVID, I started checking out the various beaches of the East coast of Ireland. This has been, by far, my favourite. Loads to see, extremely well kept, and just a beautiful stretch of beach, nestled in a small bay. On a clear day, you can see all the way from Clogherhead to Howth. It's so immensely pretty.

Lovely beach with shallow calm clear waters . It is a long beach with a lot of parking. there is a lovely tarmac promenade with bench seating to overlook the wild sand grass area before the sandy beach , along the promenade there are sculptures by local artists , this is a nice quiet beach to visit .

Parking and Beach are within few meters. Horseshoe shaped beach, Shallow natural harbour waters, safe for kids , there's an island right up ahead possibly blocking strong currents. Food and takeaways are within 100 meters.

A lovely beach in one of Ireland Happiest towns. There is a fair amount of free parking during off season. In summer parking can be a bit of a challenge. There is a childrens playground. Also it is lovely to walk along the coast here. Then after a lovely walk grab a treat of ice cream dessert in Storm in a Teacup. Spoilt for choice here. If you walk along the pier be sure to watch out for sealions. There are a few public toilets around the place. There are pubs that sell various types of food. But if you want take away chips then you have to go to main street to get them but the chipper there do fab fish and chips. Yum yum. Skerries is a great place...

Very popular with day trippers when the sun shines. The south (sandy) strand has a long path running the full length of the beach for those keen for a walk or run, with a lot of on-street parking. The beach itself is sheltered, shallow and safe (with a seasonal lifeguard hut centrally located). The north (stoney) strand is the harbour side of the bay and has far choppier waters and without much of an obvious entrance or long pathway it is nonetheless a...
