Strandhill Beach is an amazing destination that truly has something for everyone, making it perfect for either a weekend getaway or a longer holiday. Its dramatic beauty and lively atmosphere are a huge draw, and it's surrounded by fantastic amenities that make any trip here memorable. The accommodation options are excellent, with several B&Bs offering stunning ocean views just a stone's throw from the beach. For those who prefer a more outdoorsy experience, there's also a tent park and other accommodation options all within easy walking distance. You'll never be far from the sound of the waves. The beach itself is a hub of activity. For adventure seekers, there are several surfing schools where you can take a single lesson or sign up for a camp to really hone your skills. The waves here are fantastic for all levels. If you're looking for something more relaxing, the Voya Seaweed Baths are a truly unique and luxurious experience, and you can even join an outdoor yoga session with the sound of the ocean as your soundtrack. For golf enthusiasts, the local golf club is just a 10-minute walk away. Foodies will be spoiled for choice with a great variety of food options right by the beach, from local cafes to lively pubs. And no visit to Strandhill is complete without staying for the sunset. The sunsets here are absolutely stunning, painting the sky with incredible colors over the Atlantic. It's a truly magical way to end the day. Whether you're looking for adventure, relaxation, or just a beautiful place to unwind, Strandhill Beach delivers on all fronts. It’s a wonderful place that we love to visit...

Strandhill is a vibrant seaside village and holiday resort located on the R292 – it is roughly 7 miles form Sligo town. With its wild Atlantic waves is also a very popular spot for surfers throughout the year. It is said that it is one of the best places in Europe to surf! Along the seafront, you will find Shells Cafe, Voya Seaweed Baths, Surf Clubs, The Strand Bar. Close by, you will find Strandhill Golf Course, Sligo Airport, Sligo Enterprise & Technology Centre, and more restaurants and pubs. Surf lessons are available throughout the year with the local surf shops, and when there is no surf, there is stand...

Strandhill beach is lovely, loads of places the eat and drink, a big carpark in the village and some parking on the seafront but it can be very hard to get parked here even on a slightly sunny day. There is no swimming at this beach because of the strong undercurrents but you will see people out surfing. There is a caravan park near the beach, a church, pharmacy and shops in the village and on a Sunday you will find the Strandhill Market on down at the airport. Strandhill beach is lovely to visit at different times off the year. My pictures range from different seasons and...

Stunning scenery, mama Johnson ice cream shack is amazing for any sweet toothed lover for all types and flavours of ice cream, and sweet or savoury delicious crepes! Had a beautiful lunch in the strand bar and restaurant. Beautiful spacious bar with a cosy atmosphere and very friendly staff plus great food!! To finish off with a relaxing and fresh walk along the beach watching the brave surfers tackling the enormous waves. Stunning.
