One of the most beautiful places I've been. Easy to find, plenty of parking, admission is reasonably priced, the whole area is very well laid out and exceptionally cared for. The cafe has great quality coffee and cake and the indoor areas are clean, modern and comfortable. There's even a "book nook" for children in the cafe/gallery area. You could pass hours here on a sunny day or easily shorten the walk if you've got smaller children. The story of the site is interesting enough even for those without a big interest in history. Read moreYou can sadly only enjoy the castle from the outside, but you can definitely explore the gardens! These gardens are set within the outer defensive walls of the castle and are divided into three parts: the Reilig Garden, the Upper Garden and the Lower Garden. There’s a parking spot close by and from here it’s a short walk to the entrance. The gardens are open from 15th March until 27th October from 10:30am to 5:30 pm (with the last entry at 4:30 pm) and a ticket costs 10€.

There's also an art gallery that's freely accessible, but unfortunately the castle itself isn't open to the public. There is a cafe, though, in the art gallery section with glutenfree cake!
