Small but well-arranged museum. The main body is a naval vessel surrounded by halls. If you are interested in the history of Jewish (illegal) immigration in the early 20th century, this is a good place to know. All the exhibits are related to historical events, which shows the Jewish strong will in immigration to this land. There is a submarine visitors can go inside.

באתי עם חבר ששירת בחיל הים והייתה חוויה לשמוע על קורותיו ולראות את התלהבותו מהמקום והמוצגים. כן אנחנו הפנסיונרים בהחלט נהנים מהעבר והנוסטלגיה. בעיני, למי שאינו קרוב לים, מאוד ריגש אותי לראות כיצד מכלום נוצר חייל שהיום כל כך השתכלל, ריגש אותי לקרוא על המבצעים היצירתיים בימיו הראשונים של החיל כשבחוסר כל אילתר תרם וסייע בהקמת המדינה ובהגנה עליה. ריגש אותי לעמוד מול הזיכרון של הנופלים במערכות השונות כשבהטבעת אח"י אילת נהרג גם בן מחזור שלי נער חייכן מלא מרץ. יש משהוא חשוב שנצא לבקר במקום הזה ורבים הדומים לו שלא נשכח את עברנו ואת אלו ששילמו מחיר יקר כדי שנגיע להיום ולעוצמה הנוכחית של המדינה ואזרחיה. הדרוג הלא מאוד גבוה נובע מהתחושה שתחזוקת המוזיאון ומוצגיו אינה ברמה הראויה לנושא, נראה שלא מושקע מספיק להחזיק את המוזיאון ברמה ובשיכלול הנדרש. מעליב לגלות שאפילו מים קרים או משקה קל קר ביום חם של יולי אינם זמינים במקום בשל תחזוקה לקויה.

מוזיאון ההעפלה וחיל הים דצמבר 2019, מוזיאון נוסף באחריות משרד הביטחון, מוזיאון מדהים. שואלים אותי לפעמים, מה אפשר לראות במוזיאונים, אז אני אומר, כל מוזיאון או לפחות חלק גדול מהם, מחזיק בפריטים נדירים. אם אותם פריטים, שלרוב שאנחנו עדיין לא נכנסנו אנחנו לא מכירים, אבל אם נדע שהם מוצפנים במקומות שונים במוזיאון, אז אולי יהיה לנו עניין עצום לראות אותם? זאת השאלה בכל מוזיאון, איזה פריטים מוצפנים? האם אני רוצה לראות אותם? ושאלת השאלות, איפה הם במוזיאון? איך ניתן לגלות אותם? התשובה היא שצריך להצטייד בסקרנות ובסבלנות טבעית. במוזיאון ההעפלה וחייל הים, יש ממצאים נדירים, כמו המדים של אחד הלוחמים מצוללת הדקר, ספינה אחת אחרונה של מעפילים שנשתמרה במלואה, הדופן של ספינת גירוש, סירה לאימון לוחמי הפלי"ם, מדחף אחד של המשחתת אילת, וכמובן פריטים רגישים ונדירים נוספים, אותם אני מציע שתמצאו במקום המיוחד הזה בעצמכם.

If you speak only English: most of the text is not translated The real boats and the historic part are not on the same ticket, a shame! I visited only the historic part of the museum which was very nice even if english explainations are missing

Loved this museum so much, the videos were so informative, well done, and really captivating. All the exhibits had wonderful and through explanations. This isn’t just a museum, this is an experience. Also, bring a passport or some form of ID.
