I've been getting coffee and sandwiches here for many years. They have some of the best coffee in Haifa. Their iced coffee isn't watered down and is always delicious.
I recently learned about their coffee stamp cards. I'm from the US and this is a common thing there and I was glad to see they have it here too. I wish I had known about it sooner. I almost always buy one coffee for myself and that's it. I'm a teacher and about once a week I'll buy one on the way to work in the morning. Today I'm on vacation and had friends over and decided to go get coffee to treat them. I was surprised they wouldn't only give me one stamp on my coffee when I bought 4. They said it's by visit, not by cup of coffee which I found strange. I'm grateful the card exists, but where I'm from in the US you get stamped by cup of coffee not by visit. So I understand my complaint is probably a cultural difference, but I'm still annoyed they wouldn't make a one time exception.
So in summary: they have amazing coffee. Generally good service. And if you don't know about the stamp card, get one. But if you're American like me, be aware their stamps work differently. I'm personally only ever going to order one coffee at a time in the future and won't be buying them again for friends.
Edited to add: the more I think about this the more annoyed I am. I've bought dozens of coffees from them over the years before I learned about the stamp card about a month ago. The owner's solution is for me buy 10 coffees instead... No thanks. I'm not coming back any time soon. If anyone in Haifa wants my stamp card, let me know and I'll give it to you. I won't be using it...
Read moreit seems like the famous Millhouse cafe is more focused on projecting a "cool" image rather than actually providing quality products and customer service.
During my visit to the cafe, I was disappointed by the lukewarm cappuccino that I received. Despite bringing this to the attention of the staff, they were dismissive and unhelpful, suggesting that I was wrong and adding hot water to my coffee rather than remaking it properly.
Beyond the poor quality of the coffee, I was put off by the pretentious and self-righteous attitude of the staff. Their obsession with projecting a "hip" image seemed to take priority over basic customer service and satisfaction. This vibe was evident in everything from the decor to the way they interacted with customers.
Overall, I cannot recommend this cafe based on my experience. While it may have good ratings on Google, I suspect that this is due more to its trendy image than to the quality of its products and service. If you're looking for a genuinely enjoyable coffee experience, I would suggest...
Read moreYa Millhouse was cool! Good coffee and tasty, healthy food. It's in a little neighborhood right off the path to Bat Galim beach so it's got a really nice "local neighborhood" cafe type vibe. Makes you feel one with the people. If you are going for a later lunch you might be out of luck for some of the sandwiches because once they run out of bread, that's it. That's what happened to my wife and I.
All good though. There are some really good options on the menu so we weren't too disapointed. That's just what happens you go to a popular place! Gotta roll with the punches...or..munches in this case haha.
Lots of fun music and people chilling. They have a nice patio type area out front and some grass and mats out back if you want to really stretch your legs.
I really liked my cappuccino as well as my specialty ginger ale. I had a small omlet sandwich and it was perfect for a light afternoon lunch with friends.
I highly recommend you swing by for an enjoyable experience ! Definitely going again one...
