Shawatina — Restaurant in Haifa

Awesome dining experience.

I booked a table for 6 people ahead of time. The restaurant contacted me on the day of the reservation to get the meals that I planned to order since we were coming to Iftar in Ramadan.

When we arrived they greeted us at the door and showed us to the table overlooking the ocean!!

The place was clean, smelled nice, the staff looked and talked nicely.

The restaurant is very small though, coming without a reservation would require a long wait since the restaurant is well known and many people come.

The food was to our liking, the price was very reasonable (considering the city and location) around 1000 shekels for 6 main meals, including salads and dessert at the end. They would also replace every plate of salad we finish without charging.

They take cash, credit cards or both. There is a restroom. There is a restroom for the disabled as well. Parking is limited especially on weekends where many people come to Stella Maris.

I would definitely eat here...

There are two Shawatina restaurants, one at the bottom of the hill, on the beach, right at the cable car station and then there´s this one, up the hill, which is my favorite, since it offers a great view over the city. The mixture between awesome panorama and great food will delight your staying.

This place offers Arabic dishes and everything was very delicious. What we had (and I recommend to have) was the "all you can eat salads option" plus a main dish for each one of us. I ordered a Kebab with a chicken steak....it was so good that I can't find the right words to describe the taste. Salads are the best of its kind.

You gonna eat a lot, so go there with your empty stomach. Price will come around 20-25€ per person including tip.

The experience was extremely bad, I've expected for a lot more , first of all it sound sad that I wanted to reserve a table next to the windows they said that they are not able to reserve (I guess because we were two persons) so that they prefer to have more people on the tables that are next to the window.. SOA the restaurant is very dark and noisy , tables are very close to each other so that you don't feel privacy, tables are very close to the kitchen so that you hear every single sound that is going out of there , TOA the food I would give it 5/10 you can eat a much better items nothing is special, waiters are running all around, you don't feel that you came to have a rest at all, I will never think to try it...
