I wish I could give more than five stars. Of the three times I've been to Israel, this village experience was the highlight. You get a tour of a small, reconstructed replica village which is built using ancient tools, methods and materials by the staff that work there. It feels like you're in an ancient village from the first century. Some staff there manufacturer things in 1st century style, such as the carpenter that makes his tools and everything out of wood from 1st century technology, and wears clothes that reflect the time period as well (they speak English). The lady demonstrated how to spin cotton, dye cotton and how to use the loom to make fabric, etc. You get to see a potters house, authentic remains of an old winepress, a shepherd and some real sheep and a donkey, all taken well care of and treated kindly. The food is produced by hand, some of it from the olive grove there, and is very delicious. They cook it for you right there in a fire oven with ancient tools, and you get ceramic plates and cups to eat it. The tour guide shows you around a few buildings, like a full sized replica of an old olive press where you learn about what it takes to get oil out of an olive and what you can use it for. Everything is brilliant, and the gift shop is the best one I've seen in Israel yet, with various cool things you can buy (you can get icecream there too). It really helps you appreciate the effort and time taken to get things done back in the day, and the culture and society, and attitudes of people back in that time, and helps you understand Jesus' life more as well. Parts of the New Testament become easier to visualise and make more sense after you experience this place....

Nazaré Village was a amazing visit, I really appreciate and enjoying going there to see all the descriptions and explanation about what happened accordingly with the manuscripts of the Bible. It was like I was reading the facts of the Bible and seeing happening again in front of me. You can see the house of Marian and Joseph, her husband. The have also a mini your aruond the place with pictures, costumes, videos and explains how Jesus Christ was crucificed. Also you can see Abraham and his sheep's alive and color, the vineyards, and how the pressed the grapes fit to make the wine. The way they used to live is recreated in the minimal details. And the place Joseph had his place as Carpenter, and a job he tought Jesus. In that same compounds, they have there one small Sinagoga as the Greek Orthodox. Also there in this days, the place has ladies and gentlemen bathrooms, a restaurant, and a...

Jesus is great. God is good! His prophecy being fulfilled moment by moment, second by second! Hallelujah Luke 4:17-21 New International Version (NIV)

17 and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:

18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, 19     to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”[a]

20 Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21 He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in...

Really interesting to see the way Nazareth village was at the time of Jesus. The village is based on a farm that was in use in the first century and likely was visited by Jesus himself (being around 500m from where he allegedly lived). Be aware you should book ahead of time and the tours are guided and infrequent, do not simply turn up or you could be waiting a long time for the next available tour. The "village" is a set of actors, that are typically volunteers. We found the tour guide was preaching about Christ a bit more than we'd like, but this the village is run by a Christian organisation so we probably shouldn't have been surprised by this.

We were so lucky to go to the Nazareth village. We had a hard time finding it because it is on the second floor of the building where the YMCA is located. They don’t have many signs so make sure to go up to the second floor of the building. We were lucky because the girl at the front desk helped us join a tour group because we didn’t have a reservation. Be sure to schedule a tour before you go. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour enjoyable by telling good stories. It’s amazing that Jesus Christ may have very well known about the particular vineyard that was located on those grounds.

What a gem! Go on a guided tour, they explain every aspect of the life of Christ to you. People even get dressed up and reenact the things that were normal back then - weaving, carpentry, herding, making food. So cool. Our guide sang to us in the makeshift synagogue. His voice was amazing. He was entertaining and so nice. They feed you afterwards and the food is authentic and original. Fresh and takes you way back in the day. Even their cutlery was authentic. Some dishes you had to drink out of a bowl. It is what Christ would have chomped on. Highly recommended to go here.
