There are a lot of stairs down to get to the beach but the water (in July) was warm and clean, and no jelly fish. The waves could get a bit rough so it's important to stay in the area that the lifeguard indicates. There were lots of surfers there too. We went around 3pm and found a spot next to the lifeguard station so we got free shade. Otherwise, there are chairs and umbrellas that you can rent.
