Elena Walch — Attraction in Überetsch-Unterland - Oltradige-Bassa Atesina

We were staying 1 minutes walk from this winery, and was very pleased we could walk. The staff member was very friendly and conversed with us in both Italian and English.

They have a large range of wine of both classic and single vineyard bottles. We tried a number of different bottles and thought the rose was great as well as the very aromatic GEWÜRZTRAMINER (we bought a bottle)

The staff member was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of context to the wine’s background as well as some local knowledge.

Well worth a visit to taste this...

We stumbled upon Elena Walsh while doing a bike tour of the region and I’m so glad we found it because we were really impressed with several of the wines and the guy in the shop/tasting room was relaxed, knowledgeable, and gave some excellent recommendations. We’re still wishing we bought more of the Sauvignon Blanc while we were there (one of his recommendations), which was one of our favorite wines from Elena Walsh and the region. Una Domenica all'insegna del sole ma grigia per le aspettative nel Bistrot "Le Verre Capricieux"; da un nome ed una cantina famosa come questa, ci aspettavamo il massimo del servizio, qui, in Alto Adige! Purtroppo: attesa superiore ai 50 minuti per un piatto freddo formato da formaggi e salumi neanche locali, costi non proporzionati all'offerta (a nostro parere - eravamo in cinque unanimi nel giudizio), d'accordo sul rispetto dell'ambiente con il divieto di fumo negli spazi all'aperto ma la relazione con la mancanza di una toilette piccolissima, adiacente alla sala con i tavoli (spazio ricavato alle spalle del banco delle preparazioni alimentari) ed unica per donne e uomini, in una giornata ricca di clienti, cozza alla fine con la prevedibile mancanza di igiene adeguata all'atmosfera del luogo. Non ci ritornerei né lo consiglierei; ritengo sia adatta una informazione più precisa nella pagina web, con l'indicazione innanzitutto che i piatti freddi non rispecchiano la tradizione Sud-Tirolese, che non sono previste degustazioni di vini con i piatti offerti, che negli spazi all'aperto non...
